Fantastic pot, with an unfortunate label.
THEY SHOULD REMOVE THE *NON-STICK* LABEL…it implies a nonstick coating, which it doesn’t have. It is preseasoned with oil.I called them directly to check because i specifically didn’t want that garbage touching my food.Despite the bad label…the seasoning is great and the pot is the perfect size. It’s a fantastic stew/bean pot. RECOMMENDED

Great quality, solid, pot. I love it!
I see the same complaints about other cast iron and carbon steel pans as I have with this one. 99% of those complaints are because people do not take the time to learn how to properly care for cast iron and carbon steel. It will rust if you donât dry and oil it after use. Donât soak it and not expect rust. Season it….often! Do your research and you will find out how great cast iron and carbon steel cookware is and also how incredibly great this pan is! I didnât expect so much of an awesome pan as what I received! This was cast amazingly, the season from the factory did itâs job and kept it from rusting before it arrived at my house after sitting on a warehouse shelf for who knows how long. I applied a couple rounds of my own seasoning and it is beautiful! It has a very good, heavy, weight to it. The lid fits perfectly and I really do love the insignia of Bayou Classic that is on the lid. It just pops!If you are concerned about this pot, donât be. Itâs quality made. The surface is rough but you need to consider a couple things regarding that. First off the pre seasoning needs a rougher texture to adhere to. Secondly a rough pan does not make food stick. Itâs just not true. Improper temperature control is 99% of the reason that food sticks. Learn to cook with your tools and learn how to care for them. This piece will absolutely last you for the rest of your life, your children and grandchildrenâs lives as long as you take proper care of it.I love!

Perfect for melting a lot of pewter
Wish they made these available to purchase without lids, just in case your needs don’t require such… I use these to melt large quantities of pewter for casting large scale sculptures: I currently have a little stack of unused lids though. Anyone needing an extra lid, let me know. Sturdy, thick walled. Just remember, when iron is cold, it is more fragile. If its dropped from a very high height, say, if you’re cooking chili on a 25 foot ladder while limbing a sequoia and it falls on a rock, it will crack or even shatter into puzzle pieces. Iron is brittle and never the same after repair, so, preheat slowly and never pour anything hot into a very cold iron pot; same goes for carrying a cold crystal ball into a hot shower to read fortunes to retired plumbers on a discrete Skype/Zoom group-session.

Great for bread, rice. Tall pot- good volume for small footprint
Fantastic little thing, for baking bread that is not a large loaf. Even a larger one can work but will be taller. I find for bread it is very useful when not making a super large loaf in the 5 qt. Also the best for rice. Make on stove as usual to boil water, then stick in oven at 350 for the cooking time, and it comes out perfectly every time, never burnt on the bottom. Like a rice cooker. Smoother finish inside than my 5qt Lodge. High quality. Great tool in the arsenal. TALL! so you can only use a smaller burner in the stove, yet have greater volume, when using multiple burners- helpful also with the bread making for room for oven spring. So freaking cute…

Great pot.
I love that it is a cast iron pot with a lid, but it is so heavy I have use two hands to hold it for emptying. Then I need someone to help scrape. I had bought the pot for making candy and it does a great job.

This is truly a nice cast iron sauce pan!
I was looking for new cast iron pots to replace my standard sets. I LOVE MY CAST IRON! And I was so excited about this pot with a drip lid that I actually BOUGHT 2!! When I purchased these the supplies had just ran out. They did email me as soon as they found out and told me how sorry they were. I wanted these pots that much that I didnt care and I wasnt in a huge hurry and I wrote them back telling them so and that I wanted to keep my order. Two days later they messaged me again saying they had them back in stock and my order was filled by that next morning and my pots arrived very quickly. I went threw them very carefully on where everything connects. I am very impressed on how well these are made and are becoming my new fav pot to cook with!! Seriously these are very nice pots and are actually a little bigger than I thought but Iâm so glad they are!!! I really do love these pots!! GET YOURSELF ONE!!

Great sized pot, good preseasoning
I like to make no-knead bread and often do larger loaves in my Dutch oven. I was looking for something that would be good for smaller loaves. I looked at some smaller DO’s, but they tend to be wide and squat. I found this, and it’s perfect. I like that it’s saucepan like shape give me the “perfect” size for a smaller loaf. The seasoning that was pre-applied was just fine and kept my first few loaves from sticking. I do intend on doing some additional seasoning just because all modern CI does seem to have a slightly rough surface that I hope to “fix” with continued use.Another advantage over a similar sized DO is the long handle. It’s made it a bit easier to.. forgive the pun… handle with one hand while trying to maneuver things as I take it out of the oven. I want to try using it for popcorn since I can grab it by the handle to give it an occasional shake.Had not heard of this brand before, but it seems just as good an any of the other brands of CI I have. Found a couple other items on their website to add to my wish list.

Good buy
I bought this for cooking eggs in specifically, my wife may do more with it but as far as I am concerned cooking scrambled eggs is what I got this cast iron pot for. After cooking with it I have to say I really like the flat walls and bottom, very easy for my spatula to work the eggs. Eggs cooked very well and tasted wonderfully. I thought I might have some issues with sticking but honestly it was smooth sailing. I usually cook with a hexclad but this just seems better, as long as you can handle the extra weight. I should add the pot came pre-seasoned and they did a good job with it so another plus! happy with the purchase.

Heavy duty cast iron as advertised. I read someone talking about this pot getting rusty⦠ummmm 𤨠of course it gets rusty if you donât dry it and oil it properly after washing⦠thatâs how cast iron does. Probably a good idea to get a stainless steel chainmail cast iron cleaner though. They are also exactly as advertised and work like a charm.Donât use soap when cleaning, always give it an oil after use and youâre set. Enjoy ð

My pot arrived yesterday, so of course I had to use it! Cooked up some pasta and sausage with pesto… simple dish but the pot heated evening and was no stick when finished or cleaning! Can’t speak to durability, but if the weight is any indication I’ll have this a long time!

This is a great brand. This is the perfect size for making your kids home made French fries! I bought a silicone handle so I can move off the heat quickly if I need to. Being cast iron it works awesome with induction stoves. Easy to clean, not too heavy for what it is. Pre-seasoned for ease of use. Thanks for making such a great product!
