This is an OK quality, doesn’t work as well as some older stones I have that were my fathers and grandfathers, but it gets the job done. It seems a lot softer material than some of my other sharpening stones, not sure if this is by design to be better used with specific metals, or if it is a manufacturing defect. I am not into sharpening enough to know.

Disintegrates quickly and leaves a mess
This is a real junkie sharpening stone with a decent case. The instructions state that one can use the stone as a Whetstone or an oilstone. Yet the stone is a synthetic stone that is held together by a glue. The glue will disintegrate if soaked under water. I figured Iâll try using the stone as an oil stone and see how the stone performs. Sadly, the stone quickly disintegrates with oil, making this stone a piece of garbage. After using the stone for just a few minutes, thereâs already a large amount of shavings shaving off of the stone. At least the case performs well.
