I plan to use these for proofing/rising my dough. I love that they came with lids that seem fairly airtight. Theyâre sturdy. Amazon shipped them without padding and they arrived in perfect condition, which says something about how well theyâre made. Theyâre 2 quarts, which is exactly what you want for 4 cups of flour recipes. Rising your dough in glass (for challah) is one of the preferred materials. Theyâre versatile. I can use these for measuring out other liquids when cooking and baking. The glass is stable and can be used in the heat. They fit my needs perfectly and should for most bakers because of what recipes call for⦠they make baking so much easier. I love the stability of Anchor Hocking glass. There isnât anything that holds up as well. I worried about the heaviness of them, but theyâre not too heavy. The handle is so comfortable. I have measuring glasses from another popular company, so these are my first by Anchor Hocking and theyâre much more comfortable. I also like that the numbers are embossed on the glass, instead of printed in red. It seems easier to read, which is not what Iâd expect. They fit in my fridge so much easier than my metal mixing bowls. Tough glass- has survived 2 shallow drops. Great size for muffin batter and bread dough. The lid fit is tight so it’s difficult to get off if it’s been in the refrigerator.

Measurement isn’t really accurate
But it’s close enough. I use this to microwave things like soy milk. I put in 2 x 1-litre cartons of soy milk into the jug, and it was a little over the 2 litre mark on the jug. It’s not off by a huge amount, but definitely something to note. I’d wager that anyone measuring out 2 litres at a time doesn’t need razor sharp accurate measurements. This is good enough for what it needs to be.I wish that the pour spout was a bit more sharp, so that liquids don’t drip down the sides, but it’s pretty good for what it is. It’s great to throw things into the microwave though, and I was able to remove it from the microwave by the handle without any troubles. Usually if you throw something in the microwave that isn’t suited for it, the handle gets super hot, and you can’t remove it without a pot holder. This one handled it just fine.This cleans up nicely in the dishwasher with no issues. The lid fits a little bit tightly, so if you’re filling up the jug all the way, don’t use the lid, because you’re going to splash yourself when you inevitably have to wrestle the tightly fitting lid off the top. However, it is secure enough that if you cover something in the jug, you’re not going to get bugs attracted to the stuff inside. Super handy to have.

I had one of these for years but lost it in a house fire. The glass is thick, the lid fits snug, and the measurements aren’t printed on with ink which ALWAYS wear off. This is one of the most versatile bowls/measuring cups/mixing containers/storage containers/etc that I’ve ever had. I’ve given one to my mother, sister & daughter in law and they all rave about it.

Best kitchen purchase EVER! I love the solidness, the size and the measurement features of this batter bowl. The lid is a definite bonus! I’ve already used this baby a few times and I’m wondering how I ever managed without it. My purchase arrived quickly, with adequate packing and arrived in A+ condition!
