Best bread knife in the kitchen
I’m a baker and a chef. I work with other culinary artists and they all want this knife. It’s sharp and stays sharp. Cuts cleanly through even hot fresh bread. The weight is just right. Nicely balanced and feels good in the hand. It’s a very attractive knife.

A definite sharp buy
Excuse the bad pun, but this is a really good knife. It’s an attractive piece that will look great when you’re serving, and it’s plenty sharp enough to glide right through a loaf, bagel or, unfortunately, my careless thumb. Definitely pick it up if you need a break knife. Just be more careful than me with your hand.

Sharp and comfortable to hold
I really like this bread knife. The length of the blade is perfect-long enough to slice through my homemade loaves with no need to make two passes to get all the way through. The handle is offset enough to allow the blade to finish cutting without your knuckles hitting the surface first and stopping it from completing the cut.The blade is also plenty sharp-it slid through my bread easily without much effort, and without making a mess as you try to get it to go through, as do some poorly made knives. My current bread knife is a nice one, but, after 8 years, is finally getting dull and needs replacing. I tried another bread knife, but it’s blade was too short and the handle was almost even with the blade edge, so my knuckles hit the cutting board before the knife reached the bottom of the loaf, which I didn’t appreciate. The handle on this knife is smooth and comfortable to hold, which means my hand won’t easily get tired when slicing an entire loaf. Hopefully it’ll last as long as my current bread knife did before dulling; but only time will tell. Bread knives aren’t good candidates for sharpening, it’s easier to just replace them when they dull. The trick is to find a good one that holds it’s edge for as long as possible, as my current one did. The price point is decent for the quality, although my current Mercer bread knife is less expensive. It’s very nicely packaged, so if you’re wanting to give it as a gift, it’s well packaged for that. Overall, this is a nice knife, with a comfortable handle and is worth considering.

Fabulous Presentation, Knife Disappoints
Yes, the presentation is fabulous, but the knife itself is mediocre at best. The blade is super-sharp and the serrations are very pointy – rips through bread as you’d expect. The handle is actually pretty rough and feels anything but refined in the hand. Even worse, the assembly is misaligned (see photo) resulting in a sharp wooden edge pressing against the palm. Sorry but meh.

Nicely packaged for gift-giving
In his eagerness to get into the bread, my husband always forgets to “saw” back and forth with the straight multi-purpose knife â rather than blunt-force pressing down. In the process, the bread gets squished. This knife visually reminds him of the desired process. It is a LONG knife, probably too long for our use. But it would be very handy for big round loaves or cutting a slimmer loaf cross-wise.The case is very nice, perfect for gift-giving. But I feel obliged to find another use for the box, rather than add another to the landfill.
