Decent cup of coffee, smooth, but a little weaker than expected.
My regular brand is Member’s Mark Donut Shop, but Happy Belly was on sale and I thought I’d give it a try. I’m not too fussy about my coffee and I mostly enjoy medium and light roasts. Had a cup of the Happy Belly Donut Style this morning and I can’t really find anything to complain about. Nice aroma, smooth, decent flavor, although not as strong as my normal brand. I waited to see how the wife would react to the new brand and she came to the same conclusion. The Happy Belly was not quite as bold as our typical morning mug. This isn’t a bad thing… just noticeably different. Having purchased this on sale, I’m perfectly happy with it, but I don’t think I’ll be changing over to this one full time.

Too light tasting not enough caffeine
I thought I would try this coffee but soon discovered it was just too light. Not much taste and not enough caffeine. I changed to the next step up, medium brew and that’s certainly the ticket for some good morning coffee.

Very generic but not bad
I switch between different brands and roasts every few months, just to keep things interesting. This time around I’m moving from a high quality but low price medium roast to this dark roast. Honestly, I forgot I was drinking dark roast when I had my first cup yesterday. Again, today, I started drinking and initially forgot that I had switched brands and roasts. I had to actually think about what I was expecting in a dark roast to taste the flavors normally associated with a dark roast, so they are there but much more subtle than I was expecting.The coffee is not bad, just a bit weak and not as robust as I was expecting. This will be fine for a generic daily coffee but not special or stand-out in any way. Note that that’s not always a bad thing. I’ve had some dark roasts that completely miss the mark and taste like licking an ash tray. I’ll take bland over gross any day.
