Spot on design
We just set it on our Kenmore propane grill, close the lid and get it hot; then, we cook a complete breakfast on the smooth side (pancakes, ham, hashbrowns, and eggs), and the following weekend I cooked steaks on the side with the raised edges which gave the steaks the identical grill marks as if I had not been using the griddle. I believe it improved the steaks (my wife and our guests raved) because the heat was perfectly distributed and my seasoning did not drip into the grill or dry out the meat. I rubbed a little oil on the steaks before putting them on the grill for 6 minutes per side (155 degrees with meat thermometer which I used because I didn’t want to take any chances with ruining $35 in steaks since I had not used a griddle before). Well, with both meals it passed it’s inaugural test with flying colors.It is also `pre-seasoned’, whatever that means – to me it appeared to have some sort of anti-stick coating, but that’s not it because food will definitely stick if you don’t apply a little oil or Pam spray before using it. Either way, the griddle feels like a top quality, chefs kitchen item and it is made of cast iron, not aluminum.The only thing that keeps me from using it more often – and, I greatly enjoy using it – is cleaning it after using the side with the raised grooves. My primitive, but effective method is to spray it off with the garden hose on the side of our home, then generously drizzle Dawn dish soap on it and spray on enough water to cover the entire griddle surface then let it soak for awhile. Its a little heavy as cast iron griddles are, and I don’t want to scratch up our sink, or have any grease residue go down our drain. I then use a few paper towels to rub it down and rinse it off with the garden hose. It does NOT absorb any soap for anyone taught not to clean a cast iron cooking implement with soap because of the pre-seasoned coating it has – and, anyway if avoidable I don’t ascribe to using crusty cooking implements, so its probably another reason this is a top notch griddle in my book because you have the option to go `old school’ if desired.

Great end result
I have wanted a grill for my kitchen if you purchase this and have it home, do not skip the step of curing it. It needs to be washed and then a light oil applied. I used vegetable oil on it and then put it in the oven for an hour , then let it cool. I then and do it again, after that, youâve got a wonderful piece of equipment. I did ribs on and chicken on that grill and it all was delicious.

Love this griddle.
Very heavy cast iron and preconditioned. This griddle is a real time saver. I set it on top of the grate of my outdoor gas grill to keep from having to clean out grease and drippings every time I cook. It heats up uniformly and the grid leaves perfect grid marks on the meat. I can cook 4 half pound burgers or two 24 oz tee bone steaks at a time on it and not a drop of grease ends up in the grill. It was about an eighth of an inch wider than my grill bed but I can still close the grill top over it. The other side is a flat griddle which is great for cooking pancakes on either the grill or my gas cook top. The handles on either end make it very easy to move it on the grill and remove it for cleaning. The grid side takes a bit of scrubbing to remove cooked on residue along the grids, but is still much less of a pain to clean than the grill. I recondition it with a bit of oil each time and have had nothing stick to it. And finally, I really was amazed at the quality of this grill for the price I paid.

Very well made and heavy-duty!
Had ordered this to cook on two burners of our gas stovetop. Unfortunately it didn’t sit level on the burners due to the grills. Yet discovered that it will work perfectly in our broiler nonetheless. You can’t go wrong with this cookware!

Doesn’t heat evenly
I just spent 1 hour cooking pancakes to freeze them for later. This device does not heat evenly. There are hot spots and cold spots even after 1 hour of heating. Easy to clean, yes. But who cares if it doesn’t heat evenly and doesn’t cook evenly. Heating evenly is the most important part to me.

Estaba un poquito intranquila antes de recibirla porque el sistema que uso para cocinar es inducción de supra 60cm. No sabÃa si por ser una parrilla tan grande podrÃa encender dos quemadores al mismo tiempo y utilizarla. HabÃa buscado la respuesta aquà mismo pero parece que ningún comprador usaba inducción magnética. Para mi alegrÃa funcionó sin problema y aunque viene curada le hice otro curado básico. (En cuestión de sazonar nunca sobra hacerlo). Funcionó de maravilla y aunque está nueva el huevo no se me pegó como se muestra en el video aunque con este material mientras más uno lo usa, más antiadherente queda, desde que se limpie con un método que no quite el sazonado… Estoy muy contenta, ya estoy loca para estrenarla por el lado del grill. Vale mucho la pena. También aclaro que el producto está muy bien elaborado con acabados redondeados y bien lisitos, no tiene bordes mal acabados o ásperos. Me encantó, es un bello regalo para agradar amigos y familiares.

I’m happy with this item at $40.10. I feel like it was value for a good durable healthy sustainable item.This can also be a bake-tray in the oven. Use your imagination. Makes wonderful oven fries/hash-browns/potatoes wedges and more that you might normally do on a bake tray. Preheat with the oven like in electric ovens. Does it better than stainless steel, aluminum or other bake-trays because it really cooks from the bottom. Cast iron emits heat better than most other cooking materials, for example a frozen pie in the disposable pan placed on cast iron and baked will have a toasted crust on the bottom by the time the crust on top is toasted but the one cooked next to it in the disposable pan alone on the rack or on a regular bake-sheet (not thick iron or pizza stone) will have a bottom barely cooked, not toasted.Anyways not only is this a grill or griddle it’s also the most durable bake-tray or bake-sheet I can find. It also cooks the best compared to other materials yet it preheats as fast as my electric oven does.The seasoning on this is really nice and feels both thick and smooth. I wonder if I will be able to maintain this level of home seasoning or if the factory did it better than I can. However over time I hope to build up magnetite seasoning, not just oil so hopefully when that happens it will be better than factory even if I can’t keep the oil as thick or perfect along the way. All in all wonderful! Competition from other brands in similar casting shape is far more costly often double or more the price for same shape and size.Note: this emits heat so well that you can cook things that regularly need higher temperatures at lower temperatures and or or in less time. For example I just cooked 650g of wonderfully well done and crisp but not brown or burned McCain Superfries that regularly call for 20-25 minutes at preheated 425F at a measly preheated 350F for 20 minutes and then turned off and let cook with residual heat another 5. I did preheat the cast iron in the oven as the oven was preheating, then I took it out, put frozen fries on it while wearing silicone oven mitts to protect myself from burning and popped it back into the oven.It is likely that you won’t need to cook anything above 400F in the oven. I note they only warranty it as “oven safe” to 400F which is likely out of concern for the seasoning and potential warranty issues if unhappy customers burn off the seasoning, don’t re-season it and let it rust or something. You are unlikely to be able to damage the iron at any temperature safe for your household cooking oven or range. You can however burn off the seasoning at extreme temperatures or extended high heat use. This can be repaired through the regular reseasoning process of coating in vegetable oil and baking and cooling repeatedly until it is polymerized.
