You don’t know you need a microplane until you have one. I have zested so many items — from ginger and garlic to lemons and limes. I especially love this thing for grating cheese. You can freeze the cheese and then grate it whenever you need it. I would only say be careful of your fingers. It is super sharp and I shave a little bit of my thumb every now and then, but at least you know it’s good quality!

Dang, this thing is sharp. Really watch the fingers people. I use this zester to finely grate parm on my food. Being that things are so expensive, I find that this grater allows more coverage using less product thus saving me money but not costing me in flavour.
