Needed a replacement water kettle. This is the one I settled on. Fewer features than my old one, and I somewhat regret the purchase. It’s cheap, but fairly well made, with the main body being stainless steel (I hope it’s not aluminum). There are no sound indicators to let you know it is seated on the base properly, and no beep when your water is finished boiling. This leads to me forgetting about it and later coming back after the water has cooled. The only interesting thing is that there is an internal LED that lights up when the kettle is turned on, but otherwise this one is just about as bare bones as you can get.One thing that truly annoys me is the lid. It doesn’t really flip up all the way, making it more difficult to fill. The opening is also rather small as well, making cleaning potentially more difficult.Overall, it does what it’s made to do: Heat water. Aside from that, don’t expect any bells or whistles. It’s a shame Bed Bath & Beyond went out of business, because this is exactly the kind of kettle they’d sell for $9.99. It’s just “meh”…Three stars.Update:Minus 1 star.After spending more time with this water kettle, I’m seriously thinking of throwing it away and buying one of much higher quality. Mainly because the taste and smell of the water in the kettle has now shifted to a more metallic/electrical taste. When the water is finished heating and it cools down slightly, you have smell an very raw and acrid smell, which I don’t like. I can’t tell if it changes the taste of the water or not, but it leads me to think something is wrong. None of my older water kettles did this. I felt the need to add this observation to my review since I’ve had it for a few months now. Hope it is helpful.Update 2: after several months of use, I can no longer recommend this water kettle to anyone. Itâs a Teri or design. It gives the water a very metallic taste, and steam can flow into the plastic handle ant out near the two switches, resulting in burns. This thing is absolute garbage! I had all but forgotten about the water kettle (because it would normally turn off), until I walked back into the kitchen and realized the blue light was on. The kettle had boiled ALL the water away but was still on a HOT. If I had let it go for longer, it would have probably caught fire and burned my house down.This is literally, BY FAR, the WORST water kettle I have ever owned. It’s going into the garbage as soon as a better replacement arrives.DO NOT BUY!!!

Quality Unit, but no longer works correctly
We really like the sturdiness of the unit, the heating of the water is fast. After about 8 weeks of use, 1 or 2 times a day, the auto-shut off feature no longer works. Not entirely bad, but it certainly makes you pay attention more. We would buy another one in the furture.
