Safety alert – blade guard missing
This is one to avoid, for several reasons, but the main problem is the blade guard listed on the package is missing on the two we’ve received (and are returning). The lamentable design features of this knife exacerbate this problem: the plastic structure is limber to a fault, allowing the blade to flex during use or handling, and the overly thin blade isn’t under any tension, as the presentation of a ‘bow’ type handle would suggest. If youâre looking for this style of knife, check out those with heavier, stiffer wooden handles and thicker, less flexible blades. As all knives of this type, the blade is mounted perpendicular to the normal orientation of a knife blade, so the edge isn’t located where one would expect, if one isn’t being careful.Or, even if one is being careful – just pulling the knife from the pouch provided presents a danger. Most orientations of the pouch when held to insert or remove the knife present a real risk of grasping the blade with at least one finger in direct contact with the seriously sharp edge, a problem that (initially) resulted in a minor penetration of the pouch and then the skin of my forefinger. After which, we immediately got a lot more careful with pulling it out and putting it away.I keep our kitchen knives razor sharp using hand made diamond strops, and we’ve had zero problems over many years handling our cutlery, so this minor accident was a real surprise, even if not worth complaining about. But for others not as aware of what’s sharp and what isn’t in the kitchen or shop, this is a real danger we feel cries our for a warning, so here it is:Watch out! Danger Will Robinson! Not really a very good tool, for several reasons, doesn’t want to cut straight without excessive care, but the missing blade guard is a real deal breaker. We informed Amazon and suggested they remove this item from their inventory. They replaced the original with another identical item, also no blade guard. In fairness, the people we reported the problem to stated they expected that might happen, one of the problems with large organizations. So the danger remains, and we have two knives packed up with return authorizations ready to go out tomorrow. Anyone else looking at this, our best advice is Run Away! Run Away! –TR

My Wife Loves It, But ….
The first time she used it, she raved at how nice the slices appeared and how easy it was to use. The simple design makes it very easy and quick to make perfect slices every time. However, when she went to store it away, as she was putting it into the included storage bag, she managed to slide a couple of fingers down the blade! She instantly witnessed just how sharp was the blade. Luckily, a little super glue and tight bandages aided the problem but it still hurt like heck! It works very good BUT be careful!

Cuts almost anything easily
The shape of the bow knife is great for cutting almost anything. It cuts different kinds of bread easily and without leaving a lot of crumbs behind. It hangs on the wall easily and actually looks quite attractive. I happen to have a hanging pot rack and it hangs on one of the hooks which makes it very handy for me to use.

Budget friendly bread knife
This bow bread knife is an excellent budget option. It cuts through bread evenly without crushing it, leaving behind minimal crumbs. The blade is very sharp and works like a hacksaw, making slicing effortless. However, the blade is somewhat flimsy, but it still gets the job done. There is an included screwdriver to reverse the blade for left-handed use, which is a nice touch. The knife also comes with a protective blade cover, but it’s just a velvet drawstring pouch. I would prefer something that fits directly over the blade, as the pouch is a bit too narrow, and I cut my thumb while trying to put the knife back in. So, be carefulâthis knife is sharp!

Frame is loose so blade moves
A bow knife requires tention on the blade. This one bends like a noodle. And then so does the blade. Garbage. Iâm gonna keep the blade ( itâs average). And make my own holder/ handle

Too flimsy. Cheap handle
Could not use it. I really wanted to like it. The blade is just too flimsy and it is near impossible to get a clean slice of bread from it. Handle is poor quality as well. This knife ended up in the trash. Pro: The carrying bag is nice?
