Very serviceable short kitchen tongs
So I really like kitchen tongs. I like them to the point that this is the fifth one I own. Why, you might ask, would anyone want five sets of kitchen tongs? Because it fills a niche. Short tongs might be the wrong tool for the job for something like pulling pasta out of boiling water or tossing a huge bowl of salad, but they’re the exact right tool when you want more control, forâsayâtossing a small bowl of salad or serving out of a smaller deli salad dish. For such a job, you want a shorter set for better control. I’ve been pleased with my other short tongs’ versatility, but they were even cheaper and much more flimsy.Enter these tongs. They have all the features I like from my bigger sets (nice grip, a locking mechanism, and a good connection at the grabbing end), but they’re much shorter. That makes them better for smaller, finer jobs and fits into my drawer better. With these in my collection, I might downsize two of the bigger ones to have just one big one and my two shorties.Now, it’s not perfect, but you’re not paying enough to expect perfection. There is a little bit of wiggle from side to side, and I’m confident that with enough washings, the nice grip may peel off. These tongs do exactly what I need them to! I am one of those people who love smaller versions of things, so I was never quite happy with the full-size tongs that came with my kitchen utensil set. I use these so often for getting things out of the air fryer, pulling spaghetti, flipping my tortillas, and so many other things. They work perfectly every time. They are super comfortable to hold and don’t scratch my cookware. They say they are dishwasher safe, but I usually hand wash them as I find it to be easier.
