I thought these might end up being too long for being used at the table as serving tongs – but they are the perfect size! I did a salad buffet for Mother’s Day and serving spoons always end up slipping out of dishes and cause too much to be taken at one time. But these tongs make pinching up just the right amount super easy, and you can still grab large portions if wanted. And with a quick show and tell on how they work, even little kids can use them.I really like that they are simple to lock and unlock by either pulling or pushing the end on the handle, verse having to squeeze them shut and letting a metal ring slide down – those can be so frustrating, as the ring can slide down when you are using them, locking it when you don’t want it locked. This style eliminates that issue.The tongs are very sturdy and solid from handle to end, no floppy grippers on these. Easy to grab a hardboiled egg, bacon bits, cucumber slices or cubes, tomatoes of any size or shape, carrots of any size or shape, even grated and the list goes on. Close them and set them over the serving bowl or stick them in larger bowls.Everyone loved the colors and had fun using them. I think people grabbed more variety of salad makings just to play around with the tongs.

Right sized tongs
It’s just the right size around the kitchen. Only down side is plastic ends are a little too soft to pick up item with some weight. It’ll bend. But for 90% of what we use it for, it’s great.

These set of tongs are alright especially given the low price. The little circle bit at the top and along side of the tongs feel like silicon, although I’m not entirely certain that the shell tips of the tongs are silicon. The material feels very different (quite hard like nylon) compared to other silicon tongs that I’ve previously purchased. I will probably use them more for serving cold foods.
