    Sharpener does a fantastic job
Have now sharpened all the scissors in our house and have started on the knives. The sharpener has a wheel to adjust the angle of the sharpening stone and works very easily. It was a great value for the money.

Iam a novice when it comes to knife sharpening
It works great. Good value for money. I’ve always just gotten new knives when mine be came dull. Didn’t know I just needed to sharpen them. I bought better knives and will sharpen them from now on. This is very easy to use,

    Sharp knives
This was easy to use. And it does have a good size sheet of instructions re: the angles necessary. We used it on two large chopping/slicing knives which had become rather difficult to use. The key to success here is that the chicken breast diced without being partially frozen. More knives to try! I am very happy so far.

    Works well
It works well. I like that the coarse setting for the angle is a wheel with a configuration for each setting. The other brands I’ve seen use a single configuration is controlled. But I’ve seen people say that they aren’t very stable. This one is!I also like that the fine and scissors slots use round, rather than flat, rods. I believe they do a better job.The only thing that was disappointing was that the angle values on the wheel are VERY hard to read. I used a fine-tipped Sharpie to put ink in the numbers for each value. This solved the problem for me.

I really like the wide range of knife types that this sharpener handles
Excellent ergonomic design… dial in the knife type and apply it to smoothly shape your blade NEAT

Dull blades are no match for this sharpener
This adjustable knife sharpener is worth it; there are a couple of drawbacks that, in the end, are not a big deal. The sharpener has good instructions that even someone like me, who isn’t a pro at sharpening knives, can achieve a fine edge. The adjustable dial helps find the best angles to find the right setting for your specific blades. You can fix small knicks using the coarse side and then move to the fine slots to help you bring dull knives back to life. My mother, who has arthritis, appreciated the non-slip base and comfy handle—it’s perfect for her. However, the knife blade must fit properly in the sharpener’s slots to work well, which might not work for some thicker blades, files, or scissors. The sharper is useful, built of high-quality materials, and allows you to achieve a sharp blade without worrying about damaging or hurting yourself.

    Sharpening????
This would not sharpen a knife, scissors, or cutlery. Waste of money, do not buy.

I preface this review that I am no expert chef. I don’t have one of those honing rods and I didn’t learn kung-fu to be able to swoosh a knife back and forth on that thing. I only have a KitchenAid knife set that has a knife sharpener built into the knife block. You insert the knives into the sharpener slot and pull back running the knife along the sharpener. All the magic happens inside the block where I can’t see lol.I always thought my knives were pretty sharp. That is until I got this adjustable angle sharpener! I decided to sharpen a few of the KitchenAid knives, that I thought were already sharp, and what a difference! I can feel a finer edge on the blade, and I can actually slice through a floppy paper towel by just running the blade along its the towels edge. I could not do it very well before I ran it through this sharpener. I decided to debone some chicken thighs and what a difference! I got the bone out with minimal cuts. I was honestly shocked at what I had thought were sharp blades. One more thing to add. This sharpener can also sharpen serrated knives. I didn’t know that was possible. I wasn’t able to test this unfortunately, but seems like a nice feature especially if you have serrated steak knives! Now there are a few caveats you should be aware of if you want to order one of these. First, it’s for right handed folks, otherwise you will be pushing the blade. It’s designed to be held with your left hand while you right hand pulls the blade backwards through the sharpener. Yes it’s directional. Second, they do print the knife to angle setting on the sharpener itself (which is nice) but the list in the instruction pamphlet is better. I wish they printed that one on the sharpener. Third, I tried sharpening a Swiss Army knife knock off that’s terribly dull. I found it didn’t do much for this. I am not sure if it is because of the type of metal used in the pocket knife. I also found due to the design of the sharpener and pocket knife, I could not get the entire blade through the sharpener. I think about 1/3 could not be sharpened. I did try a Leatherman blade and it did well on that one. Fourth, the scissor sharpener is a bit fussy with not-so-great instructions. I couldn’t get a good sharpening when trying with both scissors ends in the sharpener. I ended up sharpening each side one-at-a-time. I also found it easier to place the sharpener at the edge of the counter so you could hold the scissors below counter level. Otherwise the angle is too weird if doing it on a flat surface. Not sure these caveats are necessarily cons. Since it did such a nice job on my kitchen knives I’m very happy with the sharpener. Again, I’m not a pro with sharpening stones. This is a nice, and much easier, alternative to stones, and being able to get an assortment of knives sharp!

I have many sharpeners in my workroom, some of them very expensive, but I was looking for something for my cottage other than the diamond sharpening rod I use right nowThis is a household touch-up sharpener, not a tool sharpener, it is very good for straight blade kitchen knives and small sport knives, certainly not blades such as axes or chiselsIt takes a little while to learn how to hold it and sharpen your blade but it will work, the key is to keep your blade at a perfect 90 degrees when running it through the rods, otherwise you get an uneven grind on your cutting edge.It is important to note the carbide rods should only be used for repair, such as nicks or scores in your blade edge, the carbide rods take off quite a bit of metal so it’s not for everyday use. The ceramic rods are what you need to use for touch-ups and immediate use sharpening.I have not used the scissor sharpening function, it seems a little to hit or miss based on the angle you have to achieve, I prefer a rod sharpener for scissorsThe dial you can use to set the angle is why I got this sharpener, I’ve never had a sharpener than you can just dialup an angle, I found that just keeping it on 22 degrees works best for all knives since I am only looking at touch-up sharpeningOne negative is that eventually the sharpening rods will wear out with that time being dependent on how much you use it. I see no way to rotate the existing rods or replace them, but for the price that is to be expectedGood all around household sharpener with limitations but a nice dial up angle feature

While this is not the most heavy-duty sharpener I have used it is the most useful.I have long used a sharpener that “automatically” adjusted for the edge angle, and it did work, but a very fine touch was needed to ensure that the correct pressure was applied along the whole length of the blade as it was stroked across the tungsten edges. This is so simple to use. It might take a couple of strokes to determine the best setting for every knife, but once the dial is set, the sharpening edges stay at the correct angle.► The dial has strong indents, so once I select an angle, it stays at that setting. As with most sharpeners, there is also the ceramic cleanup available. The ceramic sections also assume the same angle as the tungsten edges.► The ceramic scissor cleanup is preset and does not change its angle.♦ It is listed as being able to sharpen serrated knives, such as are used for cutting bread, but I’m not going to try it. I happen to like this as it is. I’ve ruined some other sharpeners that were supposed to work. It seems the tip of each tooth does some damage as it runs across, especially the ceramic polishing section.🚩 This has been designed to sharpen kitchen knives, so pocket and some hunting knives may not work. The problem is with how close the blade is to the handle. Will the handle but up against the sharpener and only allow a portion of the blade to be sharpened? With kitchen knives, even the little paring knives we have, this is not a problem.👀 One reviewer mentions that this is made for right-handed people. Not so! When used by left-handed people, the printing you see in the images is on the backside, but the sharpening effect remains the same.It is a lightweight kitchen tool, but so far, it seems to be holding up well after a couple of weeks of almost daily use. I’ve used it with various makes, designs, and lengths without anything bad happening.Over the years, I have used up a number of sharpeners. The tungsten, as hard as it is, eventually loses its edge and can no longer sharpen knives. I expect that to happen here as well, but at this price, I can easily replace it. My wife has suggested getting another one now, so we have a spare.Normally, I would not hand out a 5-star rating for a knife sharpener, but this one is far above the others, in some cases over $100 options I’ve used.

This manual adjustable knife sharpener is easy to use and a good option for those who don’t want to spend time using a whetstone. A nice thing about this sharpener is that you can adjust between six different angles depending on the of knife you’re sharpening. For the price, it works very well.

We don;t think much about knife sharpeners as we have had one for about 10 years in the kitchen drawer. So trying a new sharpener was always going to be exciting. My old sharpener has only one slot and it normally works when I run the knife through it a couple of times. This sharpener has a setting to set the sharpener angle as well. If you have a wider selection of knives this will help. The box has complete instructions and info on how and how not to use this sharpener. I learned that you should only sharpen the knife in one direction instead of back and forth. Oops! I have been doing it wrong for the last decade or so. Anyway, this sharpener has a nice ergonomic handle to hold the sharpener in place while sharpening the knife. The angle setting is a big selling point for this knife. If you don’t know much about it like I do, that information is printed on the sharpener itself. For example, American knives = 20 degrees, filet knives = 16 degrees. As long as you know what type of knife you have, you should be good. There is an additional slot to sharpen scissors as well. This I really appreciate. I have a kitchen knife that I use to cut meat and it hasn’t been sharpened at all. So I was able to sharpen the edges using this. It did help. There is no angle setting for a kitchen scissor because it doesn’t need any and the dial isn’t intended to change any setting for the scissor sharpening slot. The body of the knife sharpener is made of plastic. It adds to the noise when sharpening as the inside of the handle and the body is a little hollow. Overall, a decent sharpener with an added feature.
