I used these for pot pies, but they didnât work out. They just sit on top of the crust and the edges of the crust still burned. They need a lip to protect the edges.

Fairly useful, but could use a lip around the edge
I bought these for use with store bought pot-pies thinking they would be like the full sized pie shield I already had.They do kind of work, but they are just flat disks and don’t actually go over the edge of the crust so the crust edge still gets over cooked, though not by as much as no shield at all.I continue to use them because I hate wasting aluminum foil every time I cook a pot-pie, but if I ever find any that have the over-the-edge lip, these will be given away or trashed.
