Excellent quality
I was searching for a durable 4.5qt enameled cast iron Dutch Oven that was less costly than a comparable Le Creuset or Staub that sells for $300-$400. I saw this 5 star review, no negatives, but I hesitated buying because the price was so low and there weren’t many reviews – then I saw it was listed on Amazon for only 9 months at that time which explains the low number of reviews. Other brands had complaints of bubbled or blistered enamel and other negative qualities. When it arrived, I was so impressed with the sturdy packaging in a double box with extra cushioned packing, all inside a giant blue bag tied with a ribbon and a thank you note! All this packed securely inside the outer shipping box. The pot is extremely well made, beautiful blue color, no imperfections. I tested the trial run on my gas stovetop with a pork ragu – stovetop sautéing/browning veggies and meat (almost 3lbs total), adding liquids and then in the oven for 2-3 hours. Everything cooked perfectly – excellent heat distribution. This $48 Dutch Oven was just as great as my old expensive Le Creuset! The cleanup was so easy and the pot looked good as new. If you are looking for a top quality enameled cast iron Dutch Oven, do not hesitate buying this and save yourself a few hundred dollars!

Great for baking sourdough
This is just the right size for baking a sourdough boule. It’s heavy of course since it’s cast iron. It’s worked well so far. No issues. I use parchment paper with it.

I am a dutch oven enthusiast. I have a couple of $300 ones, and I didn’t want to use them for sourdough because of the high temperatures needed and I didn’t want to ruin those pans. I loved this one, and it wasn’t expensive. I have to say, there is nothing at all that a $300 Dutch oven can do that this one cannot. It is absolutely beautiful, it is thick and sturdy, the enamel is smooth and even, has the bumps under the lid to evenly distribute condensation is cooking. My sourdough baking does not seem to have marked this at all. I seem to reach for this one instead of my expensive ones even for soup and such. I absolutely love it!
