Perfect Drying Mat – Multipurpose
This item arrived quickly. I was quite surprised to find that drying mats were not the foam like material. They are made of stone (my oversight in catching that in the instructions). I hate dish racks because they take up too much room and get nasty over time, so I prefer using mats, which forces me to dry and put away the dishes. The foam-like mats I use are great because they are machine washable, but they will smell after a while. Using these stone mats are great. They quickly absorb water and because it’s made of stone, I don’t worry about mildew or mold. Another use is for putting hot pots/pans on the mats, which protects your countertops from heat damage. Instructions are included on how to use them and how to maintain them. The marble pattern in the mats give the kitchen a bit of elegance in the decor. Great house-warming gift.

The drying mats work to soak-up the water from washed dishes. They are like giant thirsty stone coasters. When I first opened the package, I was disappointed that what looked like groves in the photos are actually just lines printed on the mats. I thought groves would keep plates and such from sliding off the mat, but it turns out the mat has enough friction that sliding dished aren’t a problem. The size is a bit small, but with two mats, there is plenty of room. I just stack them until I need more room. I feel these are a great improvement over the cloth mat I was using, both in aesthetics and functionality.

Where Have These Been All My Life
This is a fantastic item actually can be used as a two in one item. Can be used to replace wet smelly towels or cloth mats and as hot pads for putting hot cookware on the counter. These look nice enough to leave out on the counter. The absorb the water so fast from hand washed dishes and then dry so fast themselves.
