    9×5” bread Dutch oven-perfect size! Love it!
    Love this bread Dutch oven.• size 9”x5” so it’s perfect for bread slices similar to commercial bread• I bake cold oven, cold Dutch oven sourdough bread method and this product worked perfectly for this process• my sourdough bread recipe calls for 560g bread or all-purpose flour (so you can do most 500g recipes + inclusions without issues)• my cold oven method is bake 450°f with lid on for 1 hr, reduce to 425°f and remove lid and bake another 15 minutes without the lid. Bread temp should be between 205-211°f. Give or take every oven is different• I have a smaller oven, not a full size oven sourdough bread method this product would allow me to bake with 3 (9”x5”) Dutch ovens at once, cold oven and cold Dutch oven method. (I do NOT preheat oven nor my Dutch ovens)I love this product and will be buying two more soon. You’ll see my photos and video showing how nicely my sourdough bread baked. Also, no special final shaping necessary, I shaped just like I do my boules, only difference is I did cold retard in a batard shaped banneton. When ready to bake i transferred to an unbleached parchment paper, scored and transferred to my 9”x5” cold Dutch oven you see here. Covered and into the cold oven it goes. Love it!Highly recommend this size.Side note:Great size for sourdough bread.The first one that I received came in defective—the lid was dented and did t seal properly together with bottom base. I prefer the light interior color, so has to stay with the orange. But I love the size. It’s perfect.I do have a smaller oven, and I’m able to fit three. Also when baking open bake you can actually convert one to two pans so technically that would make it 6 total pans in my case. I have now baked classic sourdough (with my sourdough discard) and a soft sandwich sourdough version also both turned out amazing.

    This is my recipe for this cast iron bread pan
    Bread flour: 600g =21.164 oz flour = 4.2 cups, 12g salt, 2.1 tsp yeast, 372g water, 17g olive oil. Bake 30 minutes lid on, 5 minutes lid off, at 450F. I greased the pan a couple times and no corn meal was necessary. I use a spatula to separate top edge and the bread falls out easily. Excellent quality would purchase again!

    This is a beautiful set and works perfectly for baking sourdough loaves. It is heavy duty, fits together securely and washes up really well so far. Very happy and I might get a second set!

    Beautiful color, good casting
    This is a set of stackable cast iron bread loaf pans. Northriver makes a set that is cheaper that get good reviews, but the set that I got from them is different in that they’re enameled color cast iron. I got the set in red, which is brighter (fire engine red?) at the top and fades to a darker ruby red bottom of each pan. No imperfections at all in the casting or enamel. It isn’t clear from the product photos, but I can confirm that the pans are enameled on the outside as well as on the inside. The inside is a dark grey colored enamel. The only part that isn’t enameled is the lip where the two half’s would be stacked. Yes, the pans are stackable as described in the product description. Because one lip fits into the other, the top doesn’t slide around, but rather sits in like a pot lid. Like all things made of cast iron, they’re heavier than steel and aluminum pans. I find that the design of the handles, which curve down, help with holding onto the pans securely. They come with 4 plastic clips, which I haven’t figure out the purpose. Maybe they’re just to protect the enamel when storing the pans with one stacked inside the other. You could ask use the cardboard packing it comes with for this purpose. I haven’t used the pans yet for baking, but based other reviews of their non-enamel pans, I expect them to do well. For cleaning, I expect these to be easier to use than the non-enamel ones, and worth the small increase in price.

    Stylish and Versatile
    These 9×5 enameled cast iron loaf pans are beautiful. The heavyweight pans that are well enameled, inside and out. The cerise red on the outside of the pans is an ombré, shading from lighter red to a darker color. The inside enamel looks to be black or very dark grey, and the contrast is between the two colors is pretty. Only the top edges are not enameled.I love the set’s versatility; you can use them individually or as a pan and lid. When using them together, the pan and lid fit together smoothly without a lot of friction. At the same time, they are sized such that they don’t really move once fit together. There are 4 plastic clips included with the set that I used to protect the pans when stacking.The enamel makes clean up a breeze in addition to all of the other benefits of working with cast iron. I have so many things that I want to use these pans to bake!

    Great for Crusty Loaves
    I regularly bake sourdough bread using a Dutch Oven to get a nice, crunchy crust on a boule. The lid on the Dutch Oven captures moisture coming from the dough to help form that crust. With this cast iron loaf pan, you have a rectangular Dutch Oven. It resulted in a beautiful loaf, looking a lot like the one in the seller’s illustration with the kind of crust I like. Just remember that both the lower part and the lid need to be fully preheated before you put the dough in. It’s easy to cut a parchment paper “sling” to fit this loaf pan. This also will work as two separate uncovered loaf pans. I’m happy with this.

    Beautiful color
    I ordered these loaf pans because I bake a lot of sourdough and they looked perfect to make a loaf instead of my usual boule. I ordered in navy because I have a fancy dutch oven by another brand that is dark blue and this one looks just as nice. It is great that when you put the top one on, it feels like it fits and stays put. I have been using regular loaf pans and of course you have to just balance one on top of the other. This set feels secure when you do that. They are heavy and feel like they should last a long time.
