This kettle is so handy
I use this kettle for everything. It heats up pretty quickly. The 1 thing I noticed is that if you fill it too high the water boils out onto the counter when it heats up and starts rolling. As long as you don’t fill it too high you’re good to go. It’s also a huge space saver on my counter.

Does not shut off on its own.
I like the look of this kettle and it works well but when you take it off the base and pop the top open it does not click to the off setting. I find that to be somewhat dangerous.

Overall, it does the job but… difficult to remove from base plate. I have to hold base plate with one hand and lift the kettle with another. Never had to do this with old electric kettel.

Since there were remarks about slow boiling, I timed multiple boils and this kettle boils 1.8L out-of-tap/quite cold water in 10 min about 100′ above at sea level. Our previous kettle would boil 1.7L of cold/tap water in 8 min, so it’s slightly slower than our previous (Lagostina BW731D51) kettle (which has started to leak after 3.5 years with an average of 3 boils/day usage).I like the glass form and the pop-up lid works fine and has a partly-closed position, as well.The reason I didn’t give this a 5-star rating is because the base is so light, it tends to lift off the counter when removing the kettle. I’ll add some weights to prevent this, but I shouldn’t have to modify it.I think this is good value for the price paid.UPDATE:I found another review of the newer version of this kettle (looks identical, from same seller) that indicated that it boils water in about 7 3/4 minutes … which is over 20% faster than this kettle. So I got to thinking, “what’s the difference?”So, now being suspicious, I checked this kettle’s power consumption and found that IT’S NOT 1,500 WATTS AS LISTED BY THE SELLER, it’s 1,100 watts (at least mine is). So this makes sense … more than 20% less heating-element power means it takes more than 20% longer. Mystery no longer a mystery. I actually like the kettle but would have ordered the newer — really 1,500 watt — unit if it had stated the proper wattage (I actually eliminated all units listed as fewer than 1,500 watts when searching).For this, I reduced the rating to 3 stars.UPDATE: I reported the 1500 vs 1100 Watt error and it’s not been corrected after about a week … so I’ve lowered my rating to a 1-star.

Be aware the water kettle doesnât turn off automatically. Not sure if all the kettle was like this, but with mine when I put the kettle onto the base it wonât light up or start unless I press down hard and turn it around on the base and maybe it turn on. I had to return it the day I got it.
