What a fabulous griddle!
I was somewhat skeptical when ordering this pan, for the fact that I have owned several griddles. And most were disappointing as time went on. First the others (several brands) are a little smaller. After cleaning for a while according to their directions, the nonstick slowly became not non stick. I would have to use a little oil to use it. Not what I wanted.This pan however is the best! It is slightly larger, accommodating 4 slices of bread flat with room for cooking in between each. Love that! It also has a nice slippery surface, which did not diminish by washing in the dishwasher, which I love. It is dishwasher safe, which my husband loves. And lastly, I have never been able to put the pan in the oven, but this one you, can up to a certain temperature. So although it is a little pricier, it is well worth it. Buy. The. Pan.

This is a very nice, slick griddle. Eggs and pancakes slide right off.It has a smooth ceramic surface which seems more durable than a teflon coating.It doesnât seem like it will chip or peel like my other teflon coated OXO griddle that this is replacing.

FINALLY!
At last, a square griddle pan with some substance to it. Someone had a conscious thought when they designed this pan. I have run through SO many of these, and have had to throw away most as soon as they begin to warp. I always seem to wind up in an apartment that has a glass top stove (grrrrr, HATE them) but this pan works beautifully with it. It is weighty, but not such that you can’t lift it. It feels substantial in the hand, and lays perfectly flat on that cursed glass top. If you (and this is key) FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, you’ll have this pan a long time. Use low to medium heat, as the heat is conducted quickly and evenly. Do NOT put it in the dishwasher–there’s no need to. A quick swish with hot soapy water does the job. If you’re scraping food off this, your heat is too high. The price for this is quite reasonable, especially since I’ve paid for it six times over at least with cheap ones (which were the only ones I could find at the time). I love this for sandwiches, searing steaks, French toast, eggs, pancakes, etc.. This is 11″ square, so 4 pieces of regular sandwich bread will fit nicely here, and clean up is a breeze. LOVE IT!

bought this a few years ago for french toast, pancakes, and bacon. as good as the day i got it. it lives in a cabinet where it gets stacked on top. some times we use metal spatula. it holds up. it’s a great pan. it does not warp up with heat. you will love it. it made me a oxo fan. today i buying a set. if the set half as good i be so happy.

Edit: 6 month updateI still like this pan and use it frequently, probably about 3x per week. My original opinion stands but I have lowered the rating from 5 to 4 stars because after 6 months of use, I’m seeing a fair amount of micro-scratches on the surface. At this point, it’s not affecting the use/performance, but it’s more wear than I was hoping for given its price and brand. I don’t use metal utensils on it and only handwash it, never scrubbing it and it always washes clean so aggressive cleaning is never required. Basically what gets cooked on it is bacon, eggs, and pancakes.I’ll update more over time, but at this rate of wear, I don’t see this being a long-term use griddle like I’d hoped and expected. On a more positive note, there’s been no warping whatsoever, despite a few times having a larger gas flame than what I intended.************First review:I’m not sure why they make 10.5″ pans, but they do and I have two. Then I spotted this 11″ and the bonus is that it has an OXO brand, which has proved in the past to be flawless on everything else I’ve purchased. Now a full 6 strips of bacon fit, end to end and without overcrowding the sides. ðIn my opinion, despite the high cost, this pan is absolutely worth it. It boasts a heavy-duty construction, with a thick bottom and a comfortable, easy-to-grip handle. Plus, it has a top-notch finish that is sure to last for years to come.In its first test this morning, I found extremely good heat distribution, meaning fewer hotspots and therefore, much more even cooking. Every piece of bacon cooked the same as the others and across each entire strip. If this can cook bacon that well, imagine what it could do with grilled cheese! Tomorrow morning, western omelets!Nothing beats the functionality of a great griddle for daily use, particularly during the summer.

This griddle is easy to cook on because it has a lip that keeps the batter from going over and is very easy to clean. I like the texture of the coating on the griddle because it doesn’t feel like Teflon, and handles more like metal.

I had previously bought a cheap griddle pan from Amazon (one of those copper colored things) that warped badly after only a couple of uses making pancakes. Frankly, I’d bought it as an experiment to see if a super cheap pan would be OK. Well, now I know that it is possible to go too cheap :-)After a considerable amount of research, and reading reviews on pans at every price point, I decided to go with this OXO pan. By and large, the reviews on this pan are favorable, and of course OXO is a well known brand, so I pulled the trigger and bought one.As soon as I unboxed it, I compared this pan to my old, warped one. The OXO is a good 3mm thicker than the old pan, and its handle is nicer to hold and feels securely attached to the base. We have used it several times, and so far there are no signs of warping. The non-stick coating works as claimed and is easy to clean.I’m happy with my OXO pan and think you will be, too. It’s a solid pan at a good price. As long as you don’t abuse it (avoid high heat, use silicone utensils, and DO NOT USE COOKING SPRAY) it should last a long time.
