Easy to use and sharp results
I bought this roller sharpening system to test it out. Coming from a stone sharping background I was intrigued by the option of quickly bringing a knife to a more precise angle. This set had done just that. I started before thanksgiving with my two least used Japanese Damascus knifes encase it went south. During the learning process did slip and scuff up the side of one of my knifes. So practice first before putting your expensive knifes up to get sharpened. It takes longer than you think to get the expected 12â angle. One knife took 8min to get a burr on both sides. The longest initial sharpening was days later and my precious 9inch Japanese Damascus chefs knife. The chef knife I had over the years hand sharpened and the angles needed a lot longer to get to 12â. About 20 minutes with the hard steel core and this sharpening set. However, using the 1000 grit side after results in a quick minute and hit the strop. Back to razor sharp knifes.Next step will be to invest into the stones that can attach and expand the set.

Easy to use and works well.
I purchased this rolling sharpener and so far I am pleased with the results. With two grit sizes and 4 degree angles, I haven’t found a blade I can at least make better, if not perfect. I will say that if your blade is VERY worn, and the edge is cracked, chipped, exceptionally dull or otherwise damaged to the point there the edge is not smooth, you will need to grind the edge to a suitable finish before attempting to sharpen with this tool. I had an old knife that had a very bad edge with numerous knicks and “chatter” grooves from bad attempts to sharpen with a bad sharpener. It was able to make the edge sharp, but it ended up looking and feeling like a bad serrated blade. I used the 1000 grit honing surface to hone a brand new knife set that I purchased at the same time. The knives were very sharp out of the box, but I honed each knife and they are all razor sharp now. My only complaint for this sharpener is that the magnets that hold the blade to the block seem a bit weak. For medium length/width blades, like slicers and utility knives, it works well. The blades sit at the right height and are held well to the block by the magnets. However, Shorter/longer and wider/slimmer width blades posed issues with getting the blade to contact the roller correctly. The block either had to be placed on a surface raised above or lowered below the roller. A thick cutting board worked for me, but it made the rolling process awkward and it felt unstable. The blades also had issues staying stuck to the magnetic sides. I also found that using this to sharpen pocket knives or other knives that may have unusual handles is not ideal. It can be done, but you have to figure out the mechanics of positioning. Overall it’s a good tool that is easy to use and it seems to work well in most instances.

Knife sharpening the easy way
Very easy to use. The main thing, you only need four/ five strokes with the 1000. Any more and you defeat the purpose. It’s used to clean up the edges after sharpening. You can also go to utube and watch a demo.. Happy Sharpening!!!

Works decently on medium size knives
Firstly, make sure they’ve assembled the roller correctly. Mine had the course and fine stones on the opposite sides from where indicated.Works great on medium size knives. Large knives you have to find something solid of the correct size around your kitchen to lift the roller up and the little stand they give you to allow for small knives is basically useless. It might work better if it was magnetic and slightly thicker, maybe? I dunno. If you hold it just right, upside down, and apply a lot of pressure with your off hand it’s possible to make it work. It’s just annoying.Overall, it does work pretty well for the medium size knives in your kitchen. Just expect a bit of a hassle doing small knives or steak knives.

Simple and easy to use
It worked very well on my European and Japanese knives. Very satisfied. It took a little time to get the knife angles set, but after that is was quick and easy. Unlike other sharpeners, this involves no set up. It is ready to go out of the box.

Works as you would expect
This seems to work pretty well. It took a bit of getting used to but it is easy to get adjusted to and my knives are quite sharp after using it.
