Amazing LOVE IT, can’t live without it. No more pressure cookers for me.
I totally, totally love mine and plan to buy a few as gifts. I have a few pressure cookers and would give them all up but for my pressure canner to for this instant pot. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. I have used most of the setting and have found it easy to use, the sky is the limit. So far I have made a roast with potatoes and carrots, ham and bean soup, bacon and bean soup, mash potatoes, old fashion rice, rotisserie chicken, Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo just to name a few turns out amazing cooked at the same time in one pot. I even cooked meat and used the fast release to add the vegetables later. Everything turned out amazing. Great to be able to cook it all at once which means less clean up. I love how it holds things warm, little or no steam coming out and almost no noise but for when it starts up. You get all the things you love with a pressure cook with none of the things you donât like plus so much more.I told my son they needed one, he said I donât like food cooked in a slow cooker, I told him this is nothing like that. They were coming over this weekend so I told them to let me make a rotisserie chicke, give it a try and see what you think. I waited until they got here and showed them from start to finish how easy it was, they totally fell in love with it. I will be buying them one this week. They will get so much enjoyment out of it with good tasting healthy food.Letâs face it everyone is looking for healthier ways of cooking that cuts your time in half, for my family this is the way to go. I love that everything is stainless steel, easy to use, very little mess and is so quite it is a shame not to have one. I got the 8qt for me and will be getting the 6 qt for my son and another one for a friend. I am also checking into getting another pan for the inside so I can go from making one things to another without washing it why it is hot. There are also some Accessories I want.It is made of good quality and will last for years. I may even buy another one for myself. I canât see me every going back to a pressure cooker and do not want to be without one.

Wow…just WOW!
OK, so, like everyone, I’ve been hearing alot about these Instant Pots…as in lots of rave reviews.I got this on a ridiculous Black Friday deal, and saved it for a Christmas present for my girlfriend.Last year, I gave her a way beyond and over the top complete set of Ninja Blender stuff, and as she opened each separately wrapped piece, her expression and mood got worse and finally, she literally stopped opening and left the room. 3 weeks later, after using it, her mood changed abruptly and it’s now a go to kitchen appliance. So this year, things were pretty much the same (as I also bought and wrapped a few extras for this), as in she wasn’t very happy.Last weekend, I asked her if I could use it…and also asked that she watch and see just how awesome this thing is. She agreed, and I proceeded to check for recipes for BBQ Baked beans from scratch. Let’s just say we were both impressed beyond expectations and I’m now waiting for her to use this on her own.I went for the 8 quart size because I truly believe bigger is better and offers more options. It’s just me and the girlfriend, but when I/we cook, we like having extra, which we freeze with our FoodSaver in 1-2 portion bags. This is a large machine, but I’m happy I went big, as it opens up so many more options for cooking. As a pressure cooker, I’m still amazed how easy it is to use and how great the results are. I mean, instead of soaking my beans overnight, changing water several times, and then having to slow cook them the entire next day, I had my beans completely done in less than 2 hours from start to finish, and there are actually recipes that can be completed in half that time. I’ve read and seen frozen, raw meat being cooked to what appears to be perfection in less than 30 minutes. Crazy cool.Another reason I went for this (and went big) was the slow cooker functions. We have 2 crock pots and neither one works like I’d like it to. The lids never fit remotely tight, steam and whatever we’re cooking spits out constantly, and getting the thing up to real heat takes well over an hour. Here, with the Instant Pot, you can first of all sear your meat or saute your vegies in mere minutes, as in you have real, serious heat faster than an electric range! And then, simply change the heat to slow cooker put on your nicely fitting glass lid (you’ll have to purchase that separately, though), and crock pot away. You can even use a “keep warm” setting and let peeps serve themselves from your kitchen island.Again, I got this for the insane price of $69, and it’s now showing at $122, but I’m telling you, this thing is worth its weight in gold and can replace so many kitchen appliances. Time is not an enemy of mine, yet I foresee using this very often. If time isn’t on your side, you’ll find you can cook amazing meals in a mere fraction of the time it would take you using standard appliances. This is truly an A+ appliance and a must in every kitchen.

I had a much larger Instapot but it was too big for just me. Now, this is just right! It gets lots of use and has lots of room to cook meals quickly or slowly- and has a lot of extra options as seen here on this photo.Saves time and money – and great in summer so I donât have to use hot oven or stove. Makes cooking and cleanup easier.

I am an admittedly terrible cook when it comes to traditional means of using a stove and I imagine that my cooking is a slight step up from eating canned dog food, but the Instant Pot has entirely changed this. This thing is friendly for cooking dummies like myself. There are tons of delicious recipes online that are easy to follow and once everything is in the pot, you simply start a timer and that’s it. Once the timer is done, open the valve to release the steam and once the steam has released, dinner is served. There is literally nothing to screw up during the cooking process; it’s simple and ingenious. The Instant Pot works by using pressure from steam to significantly shorten cooking times meaning more time for you to do other fun things like hanging out with your significant other, or watching TV, or both! We’ve made ‘fall off the bone’ ribs in about 45 mins (including creating the sauté and taking into account warming up and steam release) that were comparable in taste to ribs that had been slow cooked for 4 hrs. We’ve also used it to make homemade soups as it takes much less time for the flavour in the ingredients in the soup to trickle into the soup vs traditional boiling over a stove. Chicken in ten minutes? You bet. Perfectly cooked hard boiled eggs in under 5 minutes and delicious cheesecake in under an hour (including steam release) were all no problem for even a simpleton like myself to make, and best of all, everything actually tastes great too!! I’ve included pictures of a few of the things we’ve made using the Instant Pot. Yes, all of the food pictures in this review were made using the Instant Pot!When it comes to cooking, there aren’t too many things out there that are game changers, but an air fryer, a sous vide and an Instant Pot are, and if you happen to have all three, congratulations for having the trifecta of cooking greatness in your kitchen!PROS* So easy to use that even guys that literally can’t cook (me) can look like a rock star. Once everything is in the pot, you set the timer and go. Once it’s done, open the valve to release the steam and dinner is served. There literally is nothing to screw up and best of all, the food is delicious!* The Instant Pot significantly shortens cooking time of most things, freeing up your valuable time to do other fun things! :P* There are literally tons and tons of delicious recipes online. Guaranteed you will discover there are things that you can make in the Instant Pot that you never knew could be made in an Instant Pot.* Goodbye slow cooker. That was so the 70’s.* Easy to clean. The pot is stainless steel and the lid can be removed and fully submerged. The seal on the lid comes off and replacement seals for the lid can be purchased when it eventually wears out.CONS* Too many models just make for mass confusion. Have a look at my TIPS section for some help.* Expensive, so wait for a sale if you can as they do on sale, especially for big events like Boxing Day, Black Friday, etc.TIPS* Don’t get too caught up with the “x-in-1” features. They just add a button for preset cooking time for a particular type of food to the Instant Pot and up the “in-1” number. You can just manually input the cooking time yourself.* The most important thing is determining the size of the Instant Pot that you need. For our family of 4, we went for the 8 quart esp. since the wife likes to make home made soups.* The Lux model does not have low pressure cooking while Duo models have both high and low pressure. Low pressure cooking is typically used to make delicate foods like yogurt, eggs and veggies. If you don’t think you’ll make yogurt, eggs or veggies in the Instant Pot, just get the Lux model which skips the low pressure. Pro tip: Cooking rice uses high pressure.* Take the Instant Pot outdoors to release the steam when doing a quick release or it will quickly smell up the house of whatever you’re making. Use a glove or mitt to be safe.* When making a lot of food, esp. soups, mind the max line. If you want less chance to have a mess on the bottom of the lid, go an inch under the max line.* Be careful when releasing the steam. I’ve included a video of what a fast release of the steam looks like. You don’t want your bare hand anywhere close to that hot steam. Read the instruction manual!!! Seriously, read it.
