worth getting 100%
This comes with so much and is SO durable. The base is sturdy and basically slip resistant and everything holds up while being under water. Love the fact it comes with multiple grades of stone and it sharpens knifes so well. The kit is great and definitely worth the purchase.

SOME ELBOW GREASE REQUIRED
Depending on your purpose, you may have to work on them beforehand. Iâm sure, to sharpen knives, itâs ready right out of the box but, if you plan to use them as flat stones, be sure to use the correction stone to flatten them out. Even the correction stone isnât flat! Keeping it clear and real, and knowing these stones arenât meant to be completely flat, they work okay and the stoning is acceptable, not the same as a purpose specific set for a machinist, whatâs my case. The grit ainât correctly matched! The higher grits arenât close to what they should be. They are coarser than marked as. When flattening them, please do it with water, over a container to catch the residues off of the grinding process!!! Save it in a jar with water so you can use them to flatten other surfaces when rubbing them together (I.e. steel, soft metals, etc). Stones are sorta soft to what the finish one may expect. They will cut but it doesnât sound like they should last as long as a good set, which would cost considerably more. With that in mind, itâs a good deal and savings are very clear. One may have to replace them in the future but gives you the opportunity to get experience and the feeling for sharpening/flattening the intended material. All in all, itâs a good choice, affordable, and comes with very good instructions! Donât forget to soak them in water for 10 min before using them, but donât let them soaking in water when not in use!!! Specially the higher/finer grits.Hope my honest review may help someone to but the right product and make an educated decision!

Excellent product
For the price itâs excellent. Two sharpening stones, accessories. Great kit for the kitchen knives and that pocket knife in your pocket.

Everything you need to get into sharpening
The stones are high quality and will last for years with heavy use. I was able to get a hang of it in a few hours. While their aren’t super clear instructions on how to actually sharpen your knives, this was intentional because everyone seems to think they have the best method or form to use whetstones. As long as you keep the stones wet and hold the angle you are trying to, you can get great results.Stones are hard enough for my carbon steel knives but might struggle with some of the supersteel that pocket knives are starting to use more regularly. The stopping compound seems to be working very well (some people seem to think that the green compound is the worst but this one has been corse enough to remove any stubborn flakes of burr and fine enough to polish any remaining scratches or inconsistencies in tbe edge. After learning more and getting a feel for the process, their are only two things I might look for in the future to expand on this kit. A more aggressive Dimond stone to rough cut new primary bevels as it can be a slow process with the 400 grit stone if you need to remove a lot of material for knives that may have never been sharpened and a wooden strop with leather attached with adhesive. The strop from the kit can be difficult to hold on a flat surface.

This set is amazing!
This set works so weak, Iâve become obsessed with sharpening every knife and scissor set in our house. Now every knife in our house can cut even through paper easier than a hot knife through butter. It does help to have a metal honing stick (butcher sharpener) to finish off the honing process, because after that, itâs incredible how much sharper the knife is after alighting the blade w the butcher sharpener. I saw on YouTube how this is the proper way to finish the sharpening and it works! Wish there were a way to sharpen serrated edges.

Good set, but label issues
Theyâre good stones for the price, the included strop is hit or miss, I would suggest getting a block strop. I noticed with mine, however that the labeling on the grit is backwards. The 400 is actually 8,000, the 1,000 is actually 3,000, and vice versa. Not a major issue, just something to keep in mind. The rubber on the base also doesnât sit and will definitely slide, but thatâs fixed with a damp bar towel.Overall, good for beginners, but check the stones to see if theyâre labeled correctly!!
