Satisfactory replacement for my Teflon cookware
I purchased a full set of GreenPan Valencia Pro cookware a year ago, some individual items and a large set. The large set arrived in a box packed intricately, and I found only a couple insignificant chips to the coating from transit. After using the cookware for a year, I would say I’m mostly satisfied. Its nonstick characteristics are holding up well, and it doesn’t seem to suffer from regular dishwasher cleanings using Cascade Platinum. Often the pan can be sprayed with water, wiped dry and stored without any detergent. The bottoms are slightly prone to minor rust if they stay wet, but that hasn’t been a problem for me. The nonstick is very good, and I’m hoping the chemically inert properties are accurately represented as ditching Teflon-coated cookware was the paramount reason for buying these. The exterior coating is also very durable. The thickness of the pans is just enough to be satisfactory. Their light weight and durability allow me to use them when car camping.I find the slightly concave bottoms are not ideal for a solid surface cooktop since there is reduced heat transfer, but it isn’t a showstopper. On an induction stove, it seems as though the ferrous portion doesn’t quite fully span the bottom on some pans so they don’t heat as fully or evenly as they might otherwise. The most satisfactory heat source for these pans is a gas flame. The rough texture on the bottoms is helpful preventing the pans slipping around on tabletop canister stoves, which I appreciate.Another issue is with the lids. They let steam/condensation escape through the seam between the glass and the stainless-steel surround rim which causes water to pool on the lid and eventually dribble onto whatever cooktop you are using even when just simmering. You learn to lift the lid above the pan so it can drip all this water into the pan. And the handles get very hot fairly quickly, so you have to use a hot pad.Overall, I’m happy with this GreenPan Valencia Pro cookware and for the money, I’d buy it again and recommend it.

Okay, I sure hope people who are considering buying these pans will read this! When I considered buying these pans, I read the reviews by members of the Amazon community. I was confused because some of you said they were really great and some of you said they were terrible. Now I know why. I bought them, an 8″ and a 10″ skillet. I used the 8″ one first and it worked fine. Food didn’t stick without shortening and clean-up was a breeze. Eventually, I got around to using the 10″ skillet and the difference was amazing. It may not have been the first time, but very soon food began to stick to the surface. Now I treated these two skillets exactly the same. I don’t own a dish washer, I didn’t overheat either of them, and all I use is dish soap and water.So, in a nutshell, if you buy these skillets, you’re taking a chance on getting some (or one) really great coated NON-stick pans or not. I’m a little glad that it happened to me and that I can share this with you. I ended up donating the 10″ skillet to Salvation Army and buying a Cuisinart 10″ coated skillet. I’ve only used it once and there wasn’t a problem but that tells me nothing. I hope it works like my 8″ Greenpan!Added info;……I’ve come back to this review of my rating. I’d prefer to change my rating to no stars!! No Kidding! Originally I said the 8 inch skillet worked fine. It did for a while but it began to stick a little after I wrote my review. Things like cheese or egg yolk would be difficult to remove and often I’d need to wash the surface with more than a little effort to remove remnants. At this point, I’m forced to buy a replacement. I must emphasize that I’ve always washed these skillets by hand and never used anything abrasive or anything other than dish soap on them. I’m really disappointed!!! I purchased them on the advice of Consumers Reports which I’ve found to be seldom wrong. Boy! did they screw up this time. DON’T BUY THESE!!!

I purchased this pans to use on my new induction range. I read the ads for several different brands and liked that it said it was metal utensil and dishwasher safe. But once you open the package they recommend had washing with a soft sponge and silicone utensils to preserve the life. I would have still purchased these pans because I was looking for some that could be used not only on the cook top but in the stove on both bake a broil settings. They also recommend you do no use any of the cooking sprays.I have posted this soon ofter opening the package because it might affect the decision of another shopper. The pans have a nice weight and look good. I look forward to working with them!
