The manufacturer does not specify the exact grade of stainless steel used in its constructionâ¦. So if youâre sensitive to metals itâs a bad choice. Also makes you go change your router settings from 5g to 2.4gâ¦?!?? And must be connected to wifi to even heat up water – no manual way.

Beautiful design, disappointing use of plastic
I was really looking forward to using the Bodum 34 oz Bistro Gooseneck Electric Kettle. The polished stainless steel finish and sleek design immediately caught my eye, and the gooseneck spout seemed perfect for pour-over coffee. I also liked the idea of having temperature control and a back-lit Wi-Fi display, it felt like a great mix of style and modern features.After inspecting the interior more closely, I noticed a few design details that gave me pause. There are some plastic elements inside the kettle that come into contact with water or steam. Specifically, thereâs plastic under the lid where condensation builds up, as well as inside the handle, and a silicone-like ring around the temperature sensor. Given the growing concerns about microplastics and potential leaching, I found it hard to ignore these details.For anyone who prioritizes an all-stainless steel interior, this might be something to keep in mind. While I appreciate the thoughtful design and functionality, I ultimately decided to return it and continue my search for a kettle with fewer plastic components. Itâs disappointing because I really wanted this to work, but health and safety concerns were more important for me in the end.
