A safe place for your knives
This double canvas with PU leather buckle straps knife case is a great addition to your knife collection. I had a set of super sharp knives with no holder to put them in until I found this case. While I have a set of knives in the kitchen that I’ve been using for years, these will be handy to take with me when I travel.It’s large, more flexible than real leather and seems pretty durable. It may not be as durable as real leather, but care should be taken regardless so as not to accidentally slice or puncture holes in the material. Marks are easily left by fingernails or other objects on the case surface, but that just adds character and a somewhat distressed look. There’s plenty of space for extra long knives. The knife tip protective caps are a nice bonus that I put on the knives to help protect the case from the sharp blades. There’s 9 slots of various sizes to put knives or other sharps in, and a zippered pocket for accessories. Check the pocket for the bag of knife tip caps. As for the carrying strap, I don’t have a use for it at this time so I put it inside the zippered pocket. The PU leather handle is useful enough to carry the case on its own.For those that don’t know what PU leather is, it’s not real leather. It’s polyurethane leather. A fabric material (cotton, nylon, etc.) serves as the base layer and then a coating of polyurethane is applied on top, and then made to resemble leather. Depending on the base layer material, it can be quite durable. I don’t know what the base fabric was used for these straps, but I had no issues applying tension on the straps to close the buckles snug.Overall this is a really nice budget-friendly roll case for your knives and I recommend it.

Pockets are not deep enough
This review is for the JOINDO Knife Roll with PU Leather Straps and Metal Buckles, Double Layer Waxed Canvas Knife Bag, Large Chef Knife Bag with Handle and Shoulder Strap.I am not a professional chef by any means, but I am a home cook with a lot of knives. It seems to me that the knife slots in the JOINDO are not deep enough. I want pockets deep enough so that the entire blades are protected from each other and from my hands. Smaller knives fit the pockets but the blades are not held securely.

Taking my knives away from home no longer has to be a potential issue
Every time there is a big holiday meal at my mother-in-laws house, I need to bring my knives. She is older and doesn’t like very sharp knives on hand (she can be a little clumsy and has finger numbness so its for the best) and I have very nice knives which I bring along as sharp, well cared for knives make for easy work in the kitchen. I won’t dare leave a good knife there but I am always tasked with prepping something or breaking down and/or carving meat.Previous trips involve me using some combination of paper towels, cardboard, and/or dish towels to keep handing the knives issue free and keep the knives protected. It wasn’t a big deal because it was a 1 or 2 times a year deal and putting 1 knife in the luggage or in the car wasn’t a big deal.Now, she lives much closer and her invites are more frequent…she likes to host and I can’t begrudge her on these invites but I still need to bring my knives. I’ve never needed a knife roll before but now the need to be safe has facilitate this acquisition.The roll is a nice heavy canvas material which is well waxed making it feel sturdy and substantial enough to make my knives secure. The waxing will keep moisture at bay to prevent rust on my Japanese Damascus knives during transit in Florida humidity and rain. I’m pleased and I know this will work perfectly for my intended use. Is it a professional chef knife roll? No… but I don’t need it to be.

Large size and great quality
This knife roll bag is very well made. The waxed canvas material is thick and feels durable but isn’t too heavy. It has a lot of storage space with 9 various sized knife slots with a layer that folds over it to keep everything secure and a zippered side pocket for other random gear. The bag comes with protective blade tips but I probably will use knife sheaths just to protect the bag and my knives. Everything folds or rolls up nice and snug and there are 2 straps with buckles that holds everything closed. The bag has a carrying handle and some loops to attach and use the included shoulder strap if you prefer as well.The bag provides a lot of value for the price and works great whether you are an amateur or professional chef or just need to take some knives with you somewhere.

It holds 8 good size knives comfortably and securely. The canvas has been made to look like leather. The fake leather (PU leather = plastic/fake leather) straps aren’t long enough. I couldn’t put anything in the zippered section because I couldn’t fasten it shut. I’m also concerned about the plastic straps breaking with repeated use. The carry handle and shoulder strap work well. They are easy to use and comfortable to hold. Overall, except for the straps, it is a very knife roll.Priced at $29.99 they are in line with the competition.

Nice!
This knife roll is very thick and seems durable. It holds multiple knives of different sizes. If you want to keep your knife in the sheath instead of putting it directly into the knife slot, some of the compartments are big enough for that. It rolls up to a good size to store in the cabinet and get your knives out of your kitchen drawers. We had knifes all in our drawers and I was always worried about someone cutting themselves. That’s not a problem with this roll. I really like it.
