High quality, easy to use, easy to store.
Upon unwrapping this for the first time, I was impressed at the quality of every piece. The wood is pretty, the cutting racks are well made, the plexiglass end pieces are a good size (be sure to remove the protective film as shown in the last picture), the knife is nice and sharp and a good length for slicing your bread.Since the wood came unfinished, I did treat it with food grade mineral oil to seal it. It took several applications until I was satisfied and I continue to oil it every time I use it.The cutting rails fit VERY snugly. It takes some effort to get them to seat in place. I like that there are four slots so you can adjust the rails for the width of your bread as shown in the video. Once you have your bread in place, you can decide how you want to cut your bread. I recommend placing your knife tightly against the cutting guide you choose, so you get evenly thick slices. There are so many variations of thickness, so you will be able to find the one you like best for your purposes.This is easy to take apart and clean. I do not submerge the wood in water, I just wipe it with a damp cloth and reapply a coat of mineral oil to it. The pieces store flat against each other, and I keep them stood up against a side wall in my cabinet where it’s out of the way but easily accessed.I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it.

Sturdy and Practical

The adjustable (width) stainless steel guides are what make this top-notch; if my sandwich loaf is high and uneven (middle dome), I turn it on its side and it fits on the board. The alternating height of the tines make it easy to determine and cut slices at the same width. I cut thinner sandwich slices and thicker french bread slices. The acrylic stoppers are nice; I use one on the cutting end; my loaf is longer than the board and I use my hand to keep the loaf in place. The knife is a bonus, appreciated though a bit flimsy; I use my own bread knife. All pieces are easy to clean. P.S. I oiled the board before my initial use and wipe it clean each time. Wish it came with a storage case. Overall, an excellent purchase.

Slices whole wheat thin.
We started making whole wheat bread in the bread machine. It is hard to get thin slices without tearing, especially when the loaf is fresh.. This slicer makes it easy to do. We chose this one over the ones made of wood or bamboo to make cleaning easier and for durability. A free knife was included, but it was too short for our loaf. We already had a longer knife, which works fine with this slicer.

Not impressed
Was so excited to get this bread slicer. I made a fresh loaf of sourdough. For the slicer all set up and it slide around everywhere the plastic back boards you can put your loaf against move and slice around and seemed unless. It took one person trying to hold the slicer and back board still, and another to cut the bread. Very disappointed with this item to say the last. Yes it looks nice and feels sturdy but when it comes to the ease of use. It is not worth the money or time it took. Feel like I will be putting in for a return on this item.

Phenomenal bread slicer
Iâve been through my share of bread slicing guides over the last few years and I was never able to find something that really met my needs short of buying something electric or a hand crank. This slicer is the absolute most fantastic one Iâve had of all of them. The stainless steel uprights are spaced at approximately 1/2 inch intervals and alternate the height between each upright. That helps you match your knives when youâre slicing your bread. It actually has two backstops to hold your bread securely as your slicing. I used it for the first time and I had the most perfect slices ever. My only caveat is that the uprights initially are very hard to get into the channels. I use the backstops on top of the uprights and had to use my hand to get them down into the channels. It was just a little tight. In order to get the uprights out of the channels I did have to use a flathead screwdriver to pry them up. I am absolutely sure that with a few uses these backstops should be easier to use. However, I did reach out to the company and they are sending me another bread slicing guide, I still give a five star and would recommend anybody to buy this one. It is well-made bamboo cutting board is actually mostly protected when youâre slicing your bread as well. It does come with a slicing knife, which is pretty good, but I prefer my extra long and use that as well , easy to clean as very sturdy drawstring bag to store. Definitely recommend purchasing this one.

Disappointing
I was hoping this would work well for homemade bread slicing, but the concept is flawed. The gap in which you move the knife is wide, so from one slice to another the thickness varies unless you manage to hold the knife firmly next to a pair of wires on either side. But that is complicated by the wires being somewhat flexible. The included knife is a throwaway item; too short, for starters. My wife refuses to use this device; I use it only because I bought it, but my patience is wearing thin.
