Excellent! Iâve owned my own kitchen knives for almost 50 years, and three brands stand out as winners above all others for durability, minimal maintenance/sharpening, and excellence overall. Ginsu is one of those three!

No blade protector, slick handle
These knives are scary sharp, they should come with a protective sleeve. The smooth plastic handles are not as large or contoured as I’d like, kind of slippery. Inexpensive and serrated, so they don’t require sharpening just send them to recycle. My last one gave me about two years of use on poly cutting boards for home use, but that was an older one that had different serrations (I think) and handle, definitely Ginsu though, I had a set. Too bad you can’t return it.

Finally, a knife that chops veggies (onion, celery) that isn’t unnecessarily long so it’s lighter and more comfortable for my arthritic hands. It probably won’t stay super sharp as long as a really high-end knife but it fits my budget and I don’t use it often anyway.Even though it’s dishwasher safe, I’ve decided to hand wash it to keep the blades sharp longer. Many reviews for expensive Santoku knifes said the handles were loose or parts of blade sticking out of handle. Not this one. Handle is plastic, smooth, sturdy, no part of blade protruding.
