Very sturdy, perfect for messy kids.UPDATE.
UPDATE 2024: These are still going strong through 5 years of abuse. Not a single one has started to unravel or fall apart at all. We even lost two of the red ones outside through the winter. We eventually found them in the spring, sent them through the wash, and they were as good as new. A little more faded than the others, but you would never guess that they spent 4 months under the snow.UPDATE 2021: We’ve been using these for over 2 years now. We bought another set in black, and have been switching them out whenever the others are in the wash. They do stop bleeding In the washer eventually, so we just throw them in with the everyday laundry. They have not started unraveling or falling apart at all. Which is amazing since we are not easy on these whatsoever. They’ve gone from just being place mats to being used for anything and everything; under dog food and water, under the coffee pot, used to set hot pans on, for wet dishes as a drying mat, under coloring books for painting, you name it and They’ve been used for it. The colors have faded, but I expected nothing less from constant abuse over the years. All in all these are great and last forever.ORIGINAL 2019: We absolutely love these. We’re a family of 6 with 4 messy kids, and we use these every day for every meal. They are very sturdy. Nice and thick, not flimsy at all. They get washed every couple of days, and so far no unraveling. They did shrink a little after the initial wash, but they’re 100% cotton. Cotton will ALWAYS shrink in the wash. There’s nothing you can do about that. And anyone that gets mad about it is just ignorant, and should buy polyester place mats instead because polyester does not shrink. I put these in the washer with cold water, and lay them flat on the table to dry so I dont have to iron them. But even in cold water, do not wash these with anything else, unless you dont mind the color bleed to the rest of your laundry. They bleed like crazy. Another thing, is these placemats may not be strictly for special occasions or parties if thats what you’re buying them for, they are not perfectly rectangle. Some are better than others, some look like they were made at a bit of an angle. For my family, we think it adds a bit of character, and don’t mind it at all. In fact we’re saving up for another set in a different color for some variety during holidays, but if you’re picky about presentation, they may not be for you.

Waste of money! One time use. Once you wash they are ruined!
Terrible quality: I was happy when I got them bc they looked nice and fancy but once I threw them in the washer they were ruined. The shrink, the color faded and they are no longer usable. WASTE OF MONEY!

I like them but beware they shrink in the dryer
I like the color and they seem very sturdy. However, the instructions say to lay flat to dry and this must be followed if you want them to keep their size. I threw them in with some other laundry not thinking and they ending up going through the dryer. Coming out of the dryer I noticed they shrunk by 1.5 inch length wise. Oh well, I think they are still functional and I like the look of them so Iâll keep using them.

Great for a stay-at-home birthday party!
I got these as a birthday present to myself! They match my flamingo table cloth I got for my birthday a few years back. Yes, weird gifts, but I don’t care. the table mats help tone down the busy-ness of the table cloth and they’re so bright and happy and we all need a little bit of that these days. We’ve been using vinyl placemats…and I would NOT recommend meshed vinyl placemats because they’re HARD to clean and NOT machine washable.I liked the quality of these placemats. They have a good thickness; no loose threads or weirdo craftsmanship. They are 100% cotton and the best part is they are machine washable. Haven’t washed them yet, but if they fall apart or get torn up I’ll definitely update this review.Otherwise, these are well made and good value for your money.

Great quality, but WRINKLES like mad!
These are a very nice material. Theyâll definitely protect your table. The red color is bright and cheery. But – the red bleeds out a LOT during the first wash AND despite following the instructions, they tend to wad up and stay wrinkled. Iâm going to get the steam iron out (if I can even find it!) and try to flatten them out a bit. Theyâre great for an informal table, just be prepared to do a little extra work to make them functional and pretty.

Ordered a set in blue, it arrived in a different color, more like violet. So it does not match my table set. Plus the quality does not meet expectations for this price. I can not use or recommend this product.
