Ferraycle Pie Weights are really useful
After using beans for pie weights for years, I saw these on Amazon and bought them just to see how they worked. They are fun to wind inside the pie plate and take a little practice to get right, but they do a nice job of keeping pie dough from puffing up when baking unfilled. Would recommend to anyone interested in trying a new kind of pie weight.

Not heavy enough?
Never used anything for pie weights before because I didn’t bake my own crusts. Weights were recommended in enough recipes I thought they were a good idea. These pie weight chains are nicely made, but didn’t prevent my pie crust from developing a couple bubbles. May have been my recipe. Your results may be like those who said these worked for them.

No weight at all
These things are basically long lengths of beaded keychain. One weighs slightly less than 2 ounces, the other slightly more. The foil you put over the pie crust almost weighs more. Youâd need 8-10 packages of these to weigh down a 9 inch pie crust.The design means theyâll be hard to clean. Plenty of cracks and crevices for butter and flour dust to get into.

They were OK⦠I tried one and then sent them back. They werenât heavy enough at all. Donât keep the crust flat either. Itâs not enough weight.
