Great Toaster, Great Price
I love this toaster! I was hesitant after all the bad reviews but got a great price on it and decided to give it a try. It toasts both sides of the bread perfectly and evenly, something my old toaster never did. I have only used it for toast but the slots seem to be wide enough for bagels and English muffins. The cord is in a strange place but I just turn it sideways and there is no problem. The metal sides do not get hot, as one review stated, so even if the cord did touch it there would be no problem. I love the design of the toaster, looks great on my counter, does not take up any more room than my old one. I’ve only had the toaster for a few weeks but so far it is perfect, I would highly recommend it to anyone. I will update if there are any future problems.Update Nov.3,2013:Nearly one year later and I still love this toaster! Browns evenly on both sides, great pop-up button. Toasts bread and English muffins equally well.Update Aug. 10. 2016:Nearly four years and still going strong! Toasts evenly, works great. I’m buying my son one for his new apartment.Update Dec. 26, 2017:Five years and this toaster still works as well as the day I bought it. I bought one for my son a year ago and it’s worked very well for him.

Raised to fours stars After 3 months of use. Probably Wont Last as Long as your previous Toaster
This is a 2-slice toaster with continuous (not 7 as described) shade settings. The extra-wide slots (common feature for current toasters) fits a variety of breads and the mechanism for accommodating different widths of bread works perfectly. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get the bread down — worrisome since this is what eventually retired our durable Black and Decker toaster – AFTER 7 years. The toast function seems to work OK though there is a pattern on the bread.It’s intentional that the bagel function doesn’t toast one side (the outside) as much. The bagel halves need to be put incorrectly we have had to turn up the shade dial setting to get sufficient toasting. Our last toaster had this function which we seldom used even with bagels. The frozen function does seem to work but requires a higher heat setting for the same toaster result. The warm function is just that, but you are better off just using the toast setting for 30 seconds to rewarm your bread. A note of caution — re-toasting bread can burn it appears that the shade setting inst based on a moisture sensor which the “Advanced Toasting Technology” would suggest. The removable crumb tray makes cleaning easy and is a must have feature we appreciated on the old toaster — much more convenient and less messy than a swing down tray! W eve noticed fewer crumbs in the tray perhaps due to the way the toaster holds the bread. We haven’t had a jam in three months (not one!) so the “Anti-jam feature” seems effective. Always use the cancel setting button to stop toasting rather than engaging the handle. This will extend the life of the mechanism. The toast, bagel, frozen, and warm buttons shine bright blue when engaged. A nice feature but small blue LEDs would have been just as effective. The cancel button does not light up but is located on the opposite side of the lever. The shade dial could definitely be larger and like other purchasers, we lament the difficulty in seeing the marker on the face of the black dial especially since it is changed by different users and for different breads. A photo is attached!! <<<<< Although appearance was not high on our preference list, the toaster looks ok. The brushed metal sides are nice but, the manufacturer saved a few cents with a plastic handle. lever slot, and shade dial. Why didnt we just get the identical Black and Decker toaster we had? If you can find it, the price has doubled from less than $20 to $40 and no prime shipping. Hopefully we wont regret saving $20. Compared to the 5 minutes it took to buy our old toaster at Target, we spent a lot more time looking at customer reviews both on Amazon and in comparative reviews elsewhere. We eventually settled on this toaster because it was similar in the look and features to our previous one and it is one of the few in out price range where the 4 and 5 star ratings combined are greater than 70%. Like virtually all toasters (including current Black and Decker offerings, the one star rating for this Oster is 10% to 15% -- more than one in ten purchasers HATE their new toaster! Its not much better for $40 or $50 toasters either. It seems amazing that an entire product class has such a low ratio between "love and like" and ";hate". Like all product and service ratings, purchasers are more likely to post a review if they are disappointed but 5 to 10% one star rating reviews should be considered a design and/or performance failure. Bottom line, maybe 21st century toasters, like phones and a lot of products, are designed to NOT last. This is a 3 star toaster compared to our previous toaster but 4 stars if we lower our expectations for current toasters in this price range. We will update this review upon toaster failure or after 18 months. THIS REVIEW HAS BEEN UPDATED AFTER 3 MONTHS. Our next update will be June 2020

Good basic toaster
This toaster works with both sliced bread and bagels, with settings for both plus a defrost function that I haven’t tried. It has an attractive chrome finish that fits well with most kitchens. The cord is in the middle of the side instead of on the end. I like that since I keep the toaster with the side facing the wall, so most of the cord is hidden. A good buy.

Perfect toast!!
I bought this same toaster 10 years ago and unfortunately had to throw it away when the heating elements started burning out. This one toasts even better than the last one, both sides are perfectly toasted. I love it!
