Great for aspiring chefs!
Iâm so happy with this purchase! My ten year old diced onions and made risotto for dinner tonight! I used the knife to demonstrate the first onion half, and would say it is a nice little size for a petite adult doing small slicing tasks and a great size for a ten year old. I probably wouldnât use the finger guards for most chopping, but for especially slippery surfaces like an onion or apple it does a great job of preventing nasty finger slices. I also like the blunt tip which helps as kids are developing spatial awareness of where their blade is. Itâs not a razor sharp knife, but it isnât dull either (10 yr old had to exert some strength to slice the onion, but it was easy for me).

Outstanding starter set for kids
Got this set for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas, and she loves it. The biggest issue we had when she would help me cook was she would almost always accidentally stab my hand with whatever knife we were using. Thankfully, this knife doesnât have a pointed tip. The finger guard is easy to use, and the finger holes on the knife and peeler help out a ton. The knife blade doesnât feel sharp when you touch it, but it cuts like a dream. I saw an episode of Americaâs Test Kitchen where they reviewed kitchen knives for kids, and this was their choice and I understand why. Would/have recommended to friends and family.

Perfect for little hands
This is a perfect set for kids. My daughter can use the knife so easily with the handle. I do wish the shield was more flexible, it’s a hard plastic so it is hard for her to use on most items being cut.

This is a great tool for our kids learning to help in the kitchen, and it does the job very well. It’s a big responsibility for them to handle a knife, and the safety features (rounded tip, sharpness, & grip hole, plus the finger guard) make them much more confident & teach them to be careful – since those features also demonstrate to them them how to respect a tool like this.It’s held up really well – it’s a real knife from a respectable brand, tough, cleans easily, & we can use it too – even though it’s much better sized for little hands than ours. 🙂

Perfect tool to teach your kids how to usekitchen tool. Perfect finger protector. The good way to teach your kid isn’t constantly repeating to wear the finger protector to use it, no. Let them chop a carrot with the real very sharp knive, slice their thumb (just a little bit), they start to cry asking to remove the cut, take their finger and treat them to cut them all. After that, they use the finger protector even for eating their piece of bread or listening television. A win for all !!!

Purchased this for a three year old and they have loved it, the blades are sharp meaning they easily and safely cut through vegetables/ fruit giving the little one meaningful involvement in food preparation.
