Not Worth $40 In Any Universe!
This is a joke it’s so small. The cooking area is the size of an 8″ frying pan…Not even close to the size advertised. I’m so pissed I want to throw it directly at the seller for deceptive measurements and pictures. It’s a total return and a hard FU to Amzn for allowing this to continually happen.

This great looking heavy cast iron grille would be much better if it had a good quality non-stick coating. The rough surface has everything sticking, no matter how much oil you coat it with.

To begin, let me just say that I am not a worshipper at the church of cast iron pans, but I wanted a grill pan for those days that the weather is not conducive to barbecuing and I liked the size. The small size of this pan is ideal as I am only cooking meat for one and didn’t want a pan that would take up too much storage. The pan comes pre-seasoned with flax oil but after doing a bit of research it seems the consensus is I should have seasoned again myself. (I read this after I used it).I cooked grilled cheese for lunch and the bread did stick to the pan but the grill cheese turned out well. The bad part is the cheese that spilled onto the pan was very difficult to remove during the cleaning process. For dinner I grilled a steak and pork chop. Again the end product received good reviews. And again cleanup was a nightmare. It is still not properly cleaned. Apparently I need to get kosher salt to clean it which sounds like a pain.Perhaps cleaning would have been less of an issue if I had applied additional layers of seasoning, so I would recommend that if you purchase this pan you do so.Very high maintenance which doesn’t thrill me, but that is the case with all cast iron so I can’t fault this pan for that.My only criticism would be that the grooves in the pan are so narrow proper cleaning is all but impossible.

Vine: GrillThis Cast Iron Grill Pan is a good size for cooking small to medium size meats, vegetables and grilled sandwiches, either on a stove or BBQ, as long as the grill is centered on a source of heat.Chicken, Fish, Sausages and Sandwiches such as Paninis all come out good, but steaks with seasonings tend to stick on the grill making a mess to cleanup afterwards. I found the steaks cooking didn’t seize as well as usual and tended to boil instead.Once the Grill is hot, the handles will be hot too, so it’s important to wear gloves to carry and move the grill. As mentioned above, cleaning was a mess as seasonings were cooked and stuck in the cracks of the grill and I had to use lots of hot soapy water and a brush to scrub the grill clean. Even then, a few hours later when I went to put the grill away, to my amazement, I found it covered in rust spots and had to clean the grill again and this time, I made sure to dry and not let water evaporate and cause rust spots again.Overall, happy with the grill, but cleaning must be done properly.

  6. To-The-Point Reviews

This cast iron grill pan has been the new go-to when cooking pretty much anything on the stove. Whether it’s chicken, some breakfast sausages, or paninis, this grill does a fantastic job. The food always comes off cooked to perfection with the signature grill lines (which absolutely make it taste even better). The heating is pretty even over the entirety of the pan, assuming it’s centered on the heating element. The handles do get fairly hot (as expected) but are still usable to a degree, especially if the grill isn’t being used at high temperatures. Probably the worst part about this product is the clean up. Thanks to the deep grooves, any seasoning (or meat pieces that get stuck on the pan) tends to get stuck inside and is a complete pain to try and clean. I’ve had to start resorting to using straw cleaners to try and loosen the bits and then blasting the pan with water.Despite the clean-up annoyance, this pan is still great and I love it. Recommended for sure.

Plate was smaller than expected. It is able the size of 1 steak, but I guess it fits over 1 burner coil on my stove. I wish the edges were higher too to capture juice and splatter from meats. The very first time I washed this, I didnt dry it completely and it got super rusty. I scrubbed the rust off, and then covered it in olive oil and baked it. Then it got a really nice gloss, even on the metal handles. It is very hard to clean inside the groove, so I still have some rust under the oil coating.TBH, dont use this as much as a cast iron pan due to the grooves. The grooves make this pan better for decorative grill marks or presentation for meat or hot plate dishes when you have guests.
