The design, ergonomics, balance and materials all top notch, highly functional and effective. I can’t speak to edge retention or longevity yet but out of the box sharpness is great, the grind not 100% consistent but that’s normal for a hand finished knife, it’s sharp, cuts great and probably about as perfect as It will ever be since I hand sharpen. For the money these knives are incredible, I honestly wouldn’t waste money on the big brands, sure you’re guaranteed quality but I like the look and feel of these better than many $200 knives. I wish they had more of a variety of blade styles and different handle color options. Given the g10 scales with torx fasteners I guess you could always replace or customize the grips but these look and feel great as is.PSA- use wood cutting boards, hand wash, hand dry, store in a holder, and don’t use pull through sharpeners or metal honing rods and just about any well made knife with a good hard steel and temper will last you a lifetime (with sharpening)

Quality knife
This is a quality knife and a great value for the price. It’s comfortable in the hand, it looks good, and it was very sharp right out of the box but I still did a couple passes on the strop with it to give it a razor edge and strop it after each use to retain the edge. I have no hesitation recommending this knife.

Inexpensive,sharp and not too bad looking. I like the handle material alot. This knife cuts so well that the vegies just fall into slices because they don’t want to be cut and injured by this thing ! Yuk-Yuk-Yuk !! I know that no one needs expensive knives anymore. There are alot of great inexpensive ones out there. I happen to own a worksharp sharpener and it keeps all of my knives just about perfect effortlessly, again, Great knive here !!!!

Nice knife overall. Bought it because of the steel used but it is problematic that they don’t mark the type of steel on the blade like some of their other knives – why ? Will keep it, but MAC japanese knives are the bomb.
