Size/Capacity & Locking lid with Drain Holes
I have two of these that I have dedicated for boiling green peanuts. With two cooking simultaneously on my kitchen stove, They yield 1/4 bushel of peanuts. The size/capacity being 8 Qt with their locking lid and drain holes make it so EASY to drain the peanuts into the sink without a mess. For my application needs these 2 pots are PERFECT ! I measure EVERYTHING from the amount of water and salt (to prevent adding more later) to the clocked cook time. with periodic stirring…. Thus my Country Caviar (boiled peanuts) come out PERFECT every time. I have custom made bags with my personalized logo and business cards made but I don’t sell them (altho I easily could on a small scale) I enjoy cooking and gifting to my very close friends and in their bags, they look good and I’m proud to give them out. As for the pots, they’re made by Farberware and are of good solid construction and will last me a long time.

    Love this pot
This is the best pot to have in the kitchen! It’s called a pasta pot, but we use it for boiling eggs, making mashed potatoes, and the list goes on.This is the 2nd pot I have owned. My mother gave me this same pot as a Christmas gift 20 some years ago and, after much wear and tear, the know on the lid cracked and began to slip, rendering the lock feature useless. It took some searching to finally find the exact same pot, but it is well worth it!

    Farberware Never Disappoints
Just like every other Farberware product, this pot does exactly what it’s supposed to do! It’s functional, great looking, and the top locks securely to the bottom of the pot making draining pasta or vegetables a breeze. Worth every penny!

    Awesome Pasta Pot !
I’m very happy with this pot…..it has a nice heavy feel to it, super easy to clean, and the best bonus: it works on my induction cooktop ! The induction cooktop heats the water much quicker, and some have mentioned it takes too long to heat. I don’t find the holes in the lid affects the heating time at all.I’ve also read, and found to be quite true, you must hold the lid when you’re draining the water or dinner is down the drain. I have a pair of Ove-Gloves that have sticky palms that hold the pot and lid securely. It’s a very small turn of the lid to “lock” the lid in place and doesn’t take much to dislodge it. Would have given 5 stars, but alas, one dinner down the drain ! Perhaps a small amount of re-engineering would make for a longer turn to keep the lid more secure. I would happily recommend and gift this item !Overall, it’s a quality piece of cookware

    Favorite Stockpot1
I received this as a gift to replace an old straining lid stockpot that had be on stove top and to camp out grills. This stainless steel locking straining lid is my favorite pan now. I absolutely love it. Pasta to potatoes this pot comes clean and sparkling. Hot water and dish soap this pan cleans easy and shines like new after 6 months of frequrent use. The best straining pot that I have owned. Excellent.March 2023 Update: Still the best straining pot ever! Great for pasta in all forms form lasagna, spagetti noodles, potatos for mashing, the list can go on.

Safe locking lid is game changer
I make my own chicken stock from home raised birds and its a good size to fit a barnyard rooster in whole and boil. I LOVE the locking strainer lid! Makes draining off sooo much easier and safer..less splashing and steaming of my face. Stainless is the way to go if you make anything with tomato or other acidic foods. I hand wash (too big.for my dishwasher!) And rub a little olive oil inside before storing. It doesn’t let food stick that way.

    Good quality
I was looking for something large enough to make a batch of chili but also wanted it to come with a strainer top, this is what I needed. Nice quality, easy to clean. Very happy with it.

Really nice pot. Good size. The locking mechanism is very secure. So nice that it does not have a (bad-for-you) non-stick surface.

I like that it’s stainless steel, I like that it’s non-stick, but I find the locking mechanism a bit of a hassle – have to line it up just right and wrestle with it a few seconds to get it in. Not a huge deal, but I find my old t-fal one (which I can’t find any more of) easier to use.
