We just got an apartment and had zero cooking utensils, I didnât want cheap plastic ones but needed a lot and didnât want to pay an arm and a leg. This set is a fantastic starter set! Itâs made good and itâll last! The color and handle is sleek, the grip is really good, and they are all durable and easy to clean! Added bonus that it comes with baking utensils also, I didnât expect those! And the price is very affordable!!

Update: the seller responded and offered me a refund. Bumping up the rating to four stars for excellent customer service. Even though this wasn’t the spatula for me, I won’t hesitate to buy from Hearth Home in the future!The base is pretty thick and sturdy, small surface area, kinda like a thin hockey puck. I was frying an egg on a nonstick pan, and I couldn’t get the spatula under the egg to flip it, it just kept pushing it around. Had to use another spatula to hold the egg in place so I could get the spatula under it. The small surface area is also trouble for wider diameter foods(I made a smashburger, the burger broke, had to flip it in two pieces). Next time I’ll just go to a store so I can see the product before I buy it. It’s heavy duty and a decent price, but it’s not what I’m looking for.

Not the highest quality, but overall a good starter set.
This is a perfectly good starter set as most of the items work just fine. However, I did run into a few problems with some of them. I am used to a metal potato masher, so this one feels extremely flimsy to me. That being said, I’m sure it would do the trick if using only on soft, cooked potatoes. The hand can opener worked very well and was easy to turn. However, the bottle opener is another story. I tried to pierce a hole into a can of veggie juice and was unsuccessful more than once. As I put pressure on it, it felt like the whole thing was literally going to snap. The lip that goes under the rim of the can is simply not deep enough and just pops out of position each time. The peeler is quite different than a traditional one with moving parts. It requires much more pressure and the blade isn’t nearly as sharp. The grater is also not very sturdy. The kitchen shears were plenty sharp to cut up canned mushrooms and fresh herbs. The blades moved easily and were aligned well. I have only used the pancake turner with hot items and did find that it’s rounded edge did make it a little difficult to scramble eggs flat in a skillet. One of my pet peeves about turners is that food dries and builds up on the bottom edge and becomes warped with extreme heat. I’m interested to see how this one holds up.

I love this spatula. It is the perfect combination of traditional turner and rubber spatula. Stiff enough to slice through butter but soft enough to conform to the contours of the frying pan.
