Great veggie peeler. I think I saw it reviewed on cooks country. They said it was the best. I agree. A simple tool that is sharp and effective

Sharp and always peels easily.
I like that it always peels evenly and easily. I keep two on hand. Small but mighty. Lasts a long time and washes easily. A keeper fir sure.

Very sharp, but very effective.
Pay attention when you use these. They are very sharp. I damaged a nail bc I wasn’t focusing. And dry the blades after you wash them. They tend to rust. They get the job done, especially when you have to peel the pear and potato harvest for canning. I would recommend not allowing younger kids to use these.

Squash skin or beets are peeled with ease!
After quite a bit of research to find the best peeler, I lucked out with the Kuhn Rikon original Swiss peeler. It performed just as the reviews stated. Cut through thick skins of squash and other root vegetables with ease. Very sharp and sturdy! I haven’t tried with “eye” remover but I’m sure it will perform well when needed. This will make meal prep easier and more efficient. Glad I made this purchase

Very nice!
Fits in your hand perfectly! Great for peeling any vegetable. Very ergonomic. Blades will rust quickly. Care is a must but the best peelers out there

]Worthless pieces of junk after 3 months – rusty, dull
Can you go lower than 1 star? I purchased these in November because we always needed an extra peeler. I am ready to throw them all away. I have another “Swissmar” peeler that I have had for at least 18 years. It’s still sharp, no rust, and it works. These new ones are treated the same as the Swissmar, but they’re rusty and not one of them would peel soft butter. What a waste of money. I will find another Swissmar peeler and pay the higher price. These were a waste of money!

Prep Kitchen Essential: An Industry Standard
For those who work in the food industry, this one is an essential.Common complaints: Blade rusts, awkward to use, feels cheap.Response:1.) The blade rusts because the peeler is not made of stainless steel. As someone else has already pointed out, it’s carbon steel which requires more care (rinse/wash & wipe try with a kitchen towel right away) to prevent rusting. However, this makes the Kuhn Rikon peelers MUCH sharper. They also keep their edge longer than your normal metal swivel head peeler that most people are used to seeing.2.) For new users, the kuhn rikon peeler can feel quite awkward because its Y-shape means that it is best for certain things. In the restaurant business, peeling 10gallons of potatoes for mash happens every couple days and this is the peeler to do it. The Y-peeler is best for certain tasks and requires a certain grip and technique. It takes some getting used to but once you’ve got it down, you’ll be going through apples and potatoes like no one’s business.3.) These peelers aren’t meant to be kept for years unless of course you only peel a few veggies a year. For the product intended use, these are plenty sturdy, can be thrown around, used, abused and still stay sharper for longer. Many prep cooks go through one of these every couple months just because of the sheer volume of food they prepare. So, with professional wear and tear, you’re not going to keep them around forever. The reason why cooking professionals are generally so satisfied with these is that the Kuhn Rikons are the best peelers when considering working efficiency, durability and price.Summary: If you’re a home cook who only peels an apple as a snack and a few potatoes for dinner every few days, you might not want to bother with getting used to a different kind of peeler and the slightly higher maintenance. BUT if you’re in the food industry, you know that you can’t find what the Kuhn Rikon peelers have to offer anywhere else.

Great Peeler!
The Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peeler fits really well in my hand. It’s easy to use. The blade did a terrific job of peeling a butternut squash. Great ergonomic design! And they come in a 3-pack! Great value and product!
What it is what it do –
Incredible product, buying some for family as well. Be very mindful of cleaning then drying! It will rust as it’s made from legit materials and therefore will rust.

I bought my first set of these after looking around to find what the professionals use for the job; these seemed to be very popular. I wasn’t disappointed. They’re a brilliant peeler that does the job quickly and well. But despite the plastic and price, they’re a serious tool – the blades are VERY sharp, as I discovered the first time I peeled towards my spare hand instead of away from it, and took a thin shaving off the side of one of my fingers. I changed my technique very quickly after that. They don’t last for ever. If not cleaned and dried carefully, the blades will rust over time (they’re especially unhappy with being put through our dishwash). And we somehow seem to manage to throw them away accidentally from time to time as well. But at a couple of quid per unit, replacing them isn’t exactly going to break the bank. I wouldn’t be without them. (On my fourth or fifth set. Will undoubtedly order more in the future.)
